Suggestion for a full invitation system

Hello,
I would like to suggest a full invitation system for our forums to limit the spammers registrations or unacceptable registrations and the admins and mods to be able setup the members number of invitations etc. Do you agree with this suggestion?

Are you referring to invitation system where only the staff can use it?

Every member of the forum will be use it(by getting invitation codes from the posts etc. ) and the staff will able to administrate and generate extra invitation keys via generator and able to send them to the members as extra invitation keys etc.

But I think that this is already possible. I mean, not with an invitation system itself, but you can do it playing with permissions and forum privileges.

Just configure the suscriptions to be accepted for the Admins and that's it! Only those members that had been accepted by the Admin will be able to use his account on the forum Wink

Hello @invisible_fa,
It is not the same with permissions and forum priviledges only you can't have a full invitation system and you can't generate invitation keys with encryption algorithm. With your method the admins must always login into the ACP to activate accounts manually for each registration. With the invitation keys the situation is more automated and you can control easier each time which member invites another member as the invitation keys recording in invitation system logs and the admins/mods can manage them. Additionally the admins/mods can generate keys for the members which request it. Furthermore the invitation keys will able to used only for one account activation without any admin approvement. After a short search which I made in phpbb.com there are some invitation system mods. I dont know if it is possible f/m to install/adapt them.
