Super QUICK help on forum domain change
Hello, I have had my forum going for about a month now, and since it has grown some I decided to change the url to something better. I did it, and it said it is waiting on confirmation or something like that. However reading the link provided below, it makes it sound like I am going to lose all of my forum, posts, info, changes, and all that? Or is it saying since the forums link is changed I will have to re advertise it and google bots will have to find it again? Also since I changed it, should i wait until the address does change itself to mass message my members for security reasons?

Re: Super QUICK help on forum domain change
You do not loose anything on your forum, except the links on your forum will need to be changed to the new links. I mean in coding. It basically means that all your links in search engines, links on other forums, etc. will be to the old link.

Re: Super QUICK help on forum domain change
Ok, but all previous posts I made in the forum will automatically have the new URL in them? Also will the link automatically pop up once it s approved?
Re: Super QUICK help on forum domain change
Are you just changing the link or getting a domain name?

Re: Super QUICK help on forum domain change
I changed the link from insectsandentomologyforumotion.com, to a (my new name).com without the forumotion part in it. (Which I am apparently not supposed to show until it has been validated?)
Re: Super QUICK help on forum domain change
So you are using a domain name?

Correct. If a domain name is completely coming up with your own url, which is what I did.

You will need to have search engines index your forum again to get the new link.
