{Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
First topic message reminder :
This was an option in the User part of the Admin Panel. Now we have something called User Activation for new users. Even though I turn it off, potential new users are facing that stupid CAPTCHA thing that they cannot get around. I had a message on the board to have people contact me by email. I would turn the CAPTCHA off and they could then sign in. Now, even with the User Activation set to OFF, they cannot.
This is very frustrating and causing me to have to spend a lot of time dealing with it. If I could just create the accounts for them, I would, to save the time. But apparently Admin cannot do this. Why was this changed?
The forum address:
http://www.brothersofbriar.com/
We have 3058 registered users and 429439 messages. 40 users online right now. Hardly an inactive forum.

APE wrote:@Cruncher Pete the tools to remove the Captcha was removed as this gave us problems when google looked at our forums so we removed them to stop our forums from getting banned by google and other sites.
Now if your members can't see it and it is turned on your end then this is the right place to report this but if i remember right i could see your Captcha system on your forum so the problem is with the members browsers not our end. we are looking in to this some more and it has already been reported please repost your link here so we can get this tested our end again.

Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
Since Google updated their service a while ago things aren't working quite as good in the browser as they used too, I in fact can't see our "Who is online" section in normal mode, but when I go in "Incognito" mode everything displays fine, so may I a suggest you try that too? Just to see if that gives you a work around, maybe the captcha will display in that mode...
Kind regards,

In addition I have also tried IE and Opera and the 2 Steve mentioned..The Captcha system might be there but it does not show up in the registration process. I can not see this to be a user problem.
Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
@Steve Bohl your problem has been reported already we know about your problem and we are working on it. there is no need to post again until we ask you to or unless we have news on a fix.
@Cruncher Pete I have just asked you for your URL of your forum to be posted here if we don't have it posted then we can't help you.

I am sorry, but I do not understand what is going on here. I shall repeat what I have already said before, please check back on this post and on the forum "Unable to Register"
1. I am the user that started the forum" "Unable to Register". In order to start a new post and as a new user I had to answer technical question that included my link to my Forum. I answered that and if you check it is viewable even now. I have repeated the same when asked previously. Again, the link is:http://boincblackops.forumation.com
2. One would have thought that since you have answered to Steve in the same post as this you would have read his post in which he stated that he is the founder and Admin of boincblackops. In case you were too busy to note, he said this in a post prior to you replying to us:
" I'm the Creator & Administrator for Pete's Forum the BlackOps BOINC Team http://boincblackops.forumotion.com/ . I've used Google Chrome & FireFox without success trying to Register people. Just what Browser do you suggest we use ??? "
I replied:
"In addition I have also tried IE and Opera and the 2 Steve mentioned..The Captcha system might be there but it does not show up in the registration process. I can not see this to be a user problem."
Since you have stated that it is a user problem and we should try using a different browser, may I ask when will we receive answer to our question which Browser?
My problem is now solved internally and I am aware that it has been reported, however why are we being told to shut up and wait for the Tech result. I think that is rather rude. if You check back you will see that we have only answered your questions and in my case you have lucked the forum "Unable to register" without telling me why when the problem is unresolved. You did not even had the courtesy to tell me that the forum is going to be lucked and I should follow this one. Therefore, may I have the contact details of your complaint resolution officer for I am not happy with your conduct in treating a newcomer to this forum.
Therefore I request that you forward the contents of this forum and that of Unable to Register to the person that handles complaints.
All we wish is some sort of positive advice what we could do to allow new members into our forum. I understand that it will take time but please do not tell us to shut up when we are only answering your questions and trying to help identifying the problem. It would also help if you answered direct questions like" what browser should we use?" instead of telling us that it must be a user problem and everything is fine at your end.
Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
We understand that this issue is causing registration problems. We have reported it. We can only wait for a reply from the main office (France). The main office has asked for a list of forums that are being affected that is why we asked for your forums' links.

Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
@Cruncher Pete and @Steve Bohl
Right as i have already said the problem with that forum has already been reported.
You need to understand we can only talk to the founder of the forum not any one else that is why things are getting mixed up we can not talk to any one else but the founder of the forums so now we have worked out you are both reporting the same problem with the same forum we can now move on.
From now on only the founder can report problems about the one forum and no one else.

Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
@Cruncher Pete and @Steve Bohl
I have news about your problem.
We have run some tests and found that we have nothing wrong our end.
when running some tests we found that your CSS files have some small problems in them.
What we found:
We found when forcing your basic CSS files your Captcha comes back and works fine.
when putting your CSS files back in play we find the problem comes back.
What you need to do:
You will need to look over your CSS files installed on your forum and see if you can find anything that is not right or remove one by one and test in a separate browser to see if it has come back.
What we did our end:
To test this for your self you need to go to
Then go and look to see if the Captcha is there.
Don't worry your own CSS files will still be there saved.
To put it back again all you have to do is do the same steps but at the end tick NO then save and your forum will be back how it was before we did this.

Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
The Captcha is there if I do that but still have trouble registering somebody. For 1 you can't see the password when typing it in the password box, things sorts keep flickering in & out too when trying to Register somebody. I'll try it some more & see what happens.
Upon trying further what I'm getting is that it won't let me put in the e-mail address & or the password

Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
Ape, I was going to stay clear as you told me to but since my founder answered you, I feel I need to add to that. I am technically challenged, do not understand code or CSS and accordingly did nothing. At this stage, I longer see at the bottom of the page who is logged in, the most ever logged in as I used to see and more importantly, I no longer have access to the option: "Admin Access" as the last option at the bottom of the page. No matter who or what was changed, it has not fixed anything.
Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
@Ape. Further to my previous post above, I have logged out and attempted to register. I was confronted with the usual terms that I must acknowledge. At the bottom of that statement I was presented with two blank squares. There was no indication as to what they meant but even when I clicked in the box nothing happened. I could not even get to the stage where it asked for you email address. Shall I stop replying and leave this to the founder? We might not see the same problem.

this is because you have white boxes and you typing white text
thats why it is not readable
you have to either make the text black or the boxes another color
Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
I have managed to register a different member into the forum by changing the skin style for the forum. I lost my header that I had for the forum but at least new members can get into the forum now. I can always work on a new header for the forum ...
Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
As i said it was to do with your CSS files as you have changed the Skin this problem would have gone away as it has now.
The text was removed on the last skin box as this was in your CSS files and as you have turned them off thats when the color of the text changed back to white and white background.
Anyway can i take it this problem is now solved for you ?

Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
Yes the Captcha problem is solved for now, I have other problems but they belong in another forum I suspect ... Thanks
Re: {Only Topic} CAPTCHA Not Appearing
Yes @Steve Bohl if you have other problems then you need to make a new thread then we will try our best to help you on them remember you must be a founder on that forum so we can help you.
@BucolicBuffalo is this problem now solved for you also ?
