BBCode code tag not copying properly
So on the forum I've created a simple BBCode code tag with a template to copy over across the forum (Template in Question). The problem I have is that when I copy the template and go to another part of the forum to paste it, the entire thing gets tabbed over on each new line instead of left-aligning like it normally does. I've tried playing around with the code tags themselves but I can't seem to make anything in particular work for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated with this small quality of life problem I'm having~

Are you in source or WYSIWYG mode? You need to copy and paste it in source mode.

Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
Edit: Sorry, I figured that out. I was copying it into source mode and still getting the awkward space on each new line. When I paste it into WYSIWYG it'll copy the whole code block and then reverting back it works but that is a lot of extra steps to solve the issue...
Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
In your editor tools you will see the following or the first one is (WYSIWYG) stands for "What You See Is What You Get" This means as you type you get what you are going to post The other is so you can see all your BBcodes in your text like this
If you are in WYSIWYG you will see your text like this " Hello my names Fred "
if you are posting a bbcode you should have your button showing as
- Code:
[color=#FF0000][b]Hello[/b] my names Fred [/color]
If you are in WYSIWYG you will see your text like this " Hello my names Fred "
if you are posting a bbcode you should have your button showing as
Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
Right, I figured that out (sorry). Was thinking that they meant some extraneous feature beyond the editor and all. I get the left align problem copying it into source and copying it into WYSIWYG for some reasons pulls the [code] tags with it. If I revert back to source from WYSIWYG initially then it's formatted properly after the fact with the addition of the code tags.
Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
I put a link in the original post and all, it's a template of BBcode inside a code tag. When I copy it from there and paste it in a new location it gets shifted by 4 spaces in the new topic
Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
Here's a screenshot of what I keep seeing in the copy/paste:
It's just a small quality of life thing but if I can get it to properly left-align then that would be great lol

Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
The reason you get the code tag is you are taking the code as a full copy and paste the forum don't have a system on it like we do here where you can copy the code inside but not the code tag it's self
So how I do it is to copy the code then put it in the WYSIWYG then before posting the code turn it back off then the code comes out right.

Re: BBCode code tag not copying properly
Right, I found that method out and all, I appreciate the help! I was just hoping that maybe there was a settings fix or was missing some weird formatting error that would let me just copy it directly and all. Sad times I suppose xD
