Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
I just migrated here from Aimoo, and I'm not familiar with the CSS over here in Forumotion, so everything is so different to me. I would like to add a CBox Chat Box, but I do not know where to add it on the CSS page here, and I'm not even sure if it is allowed here or not. I know how to get the code off of the CBox site, but when it comes to putting it into a CSS that already has a bunch of code on it, I'm totally lost.
My group is http://unforgettabledesigns.forumotion.com/. I just opened the group up not too long ago.
Also...how do you upload images from your computer into a post? I have tried multiple times, and have not had any luck, and I did pay for storage, so I'm still lost on this one, too. I know how to post images from my Fotki account, and I'm not having any problems posting them...I was just wondering if there was a way to post them directly from my computer.
Thanks for your help!

CSS codes can be added at Admin CP > Display > Pictures and Colors > Colors > CSS Stylesheet.
For uploading images, forumotion uses servimg to host images. So you must click the "Host an image" button (first image) first and browse the image directly from your computer, then click the "Insert Image" button (second image) and paste the url of the image to enclose it with the [ img][ /img] tag.

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
So does it matter where I put the code...can I post it at the top of the other codes that are already there?
I do not want to mess up anything with the group, because I worked all day on it,
and it about wore me out. I'm pushing 60 here, and I'm not a young chick anymore. LOL

Yes you can put it anywhere as you prefer. (like at the very top of the stylesheet)

Hello and welcome @Laura-8898
Just a thought....
Are you sure it's a CSS files you have from your host cbox ?
I ask this as most of the time the codes come as a HTML file you add to your site.
if you are not sure please post a link to the cbox site and I can take a look for you and tell you on the places to add the code's.
Kind reagards.
APE.

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
The ladies in my group are not fond of the Chat Box that is provided by Forumotion. They prefer CBox over it. That's why I was asking if there was a way to enter my code somewhere, so that it would show up on my board. Over in Aimoo, all we had to do is enter it into a CSS box, and it would show up on the board. That's why I was asking about the CSS Stylesheet. I just wanted to make sure that was where I was suppose to enter it. I do not know much about html codes...just a little, so I wasn't sure exactly where to put it, so that it would be located up under the header on our board, just like where the Forumotion Chat Box is located. That's where I want the CBox Chat Box to be. Plus, I wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to mess up my Hitskin, as well. I greatly appreciate any help or any advice that you can give me. Thanks!

Hi There,
That makes sense, I was thinking it was way more simpler to activate it manually. It looks like APE will assist you with implementing the code! Good luck

It depends on how the coding looks.

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
If that's the code then try going to Admin CP > Display > Templates > General > index_body (Click the gear icon to modify)
- Search in the templates this code: {CHATBOX_TOP}
- Now below it, you can add the code of your chatbox, use this one instead:

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
Do you want it on all pages?
If you have HMTL activated for the all forum, you can add it to a post, in the homepage messages, in an announcement, in a widget, etc.

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
I'm so sorry I have caused so much trouble, but I have no knowledge of HTML codes, except how to change colors & font sizes,
so I wouldn't know what is CSS or HTML is. I'm an older lady, and I'm still learning these things. I will go and try that, and get back with you, to let you know if it works. Thanks so very much.

CSS is like this:
HTML is what your code is.
- Code:
body {
min-height: 100%;
overflow: auto;
position: relative;
word-wrap: break-word;
}
HTML is what your code is.

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
Well, Mark's idea didn't work...I keep getting this error message:

1 - As far as widgets go, I don't know the first thing about them, or how to even set one up on my board.
2 - If I post that code in a message, is it just going to stay in the message? That won't work. We need a good working chat box on at least the front page, if not all pages.

Use this one instead:
or as stated by APE, you can simply put it inside Admin CP > Display > Homepage > Generalities > Homepage Message:
- Message Content: Put here the HTML code.
But just in case you want to display the chatbox at all pages, then go to Admin CP > Display > Templates > General > overall_header (click the gear icon to modify):
- Search in templates this code: <div id="page-body">
then put the cbox code before the <div id="page-body"> line.

Re: Adding A CBox Chat Box & How To Upload Images From My Computer
Well, adding it to the Homepage messed the whole top of the page up. There's nothing but a big box and it's totally blank, and now I can't remove it. How do I do that?
I decided to create a new chat box, over on CBox, and now I'm getting this code below...where should I try putting it?
<iframe src="https://www2.cbox.ws/box/?boxid=2403349&boxtag=cxqcym" width="700" height="450" allowtransparency="yes" allow="autoplay" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="auto"></iframe>
I need to get off of my computer, and head to bed. I will check my notifications tomorrow, on this matter.
Thanks for all of your help.
