Thanksgiving Plans?
Hello everyone!
With Thanksgiving only a week and a half away I wanted to open up this thread to see, what are you all doing for the day? Are you out traveling? Planning a huge feast? Maybe a small one with smaller family? Maybe you are doing a friendsgiving? Even if you don't celebrate it, what are your plans
I myself will be traveling with my family to Kentucky to visit my grandparents. My brother and I are taking a PS4 and I am taking my laptop and 3DS XL to pass the time as it is an 11 hour trip.
What about you?
Cheers,
James

Curious. Does the UK have any sort of thing like Thanksgiving that the US does just maybe at a different time or celebrated differently?
Re: Thanksgiving Plans?
Three countries in particular have Thanksgiving celebrations that are nearly identical with the American custom.
Canada, America’s neighbor to the north, shares many of the same Thanksgiving traditions, both culinary and cultural. Due in part to its proximity, traditions once unique to one country or the other have blended over the centuries.
Similarly, because Liberia was founded by freed American slaves, many American traditions, including Thanksgiving, are also celebrated in the West African nation.
In the 1800s, an American trader brought the feasting tradition to Norfolk Island, located east of Australia, and the tradition has remained.

Wow. I did not know that. Thanks for the history lesson

Probably spend time with family. We usually do a cookout rather than the typical indoor feast.

Sounds like fun. Most years my family come to us as 90% of my family all live here in the same town as me but this year my parents and I are going to visit my grandparents so it will be a very small thanksgiving but fun none the less I bet.

In Mexico it's not a tradition, so we don't do anything until Christmas and new year -w-
Re: Thanksgiving Plans?
in the RO we do not have thanksgiving so we will not be doing anything...
On Thanksgiving, I do not think anyone in Romania celebrates such a thing ... At least I like Christmas, Easter, Winter... and much, much, more!

Re: Thanksgiving Plans?
Thanksgiving is only celebrated in about 4 countries. It is mostly American and Canadian celebration. Canada's Thanksgiving is not on the same day.
