Old dead forum founder account recovery

Hi,

I am the moderator of a long dead forum. There is personal information on that forum that I would like removed.

The founder is long gone and I have been unsuccessful in trying to contact him.

I was wondering if it was possible to either recover the founder's account or transfer founder/administrative status to another account so I can take control of the content myself.
