Random popup ads
Hi guys,
I'm back and I'd need your help again...
So my forum is having random ad popups and I have no idea what's causing it.
It's not just for me, 2 other members reported it too, so yeah...
The past ~3 years the forum was closed. I've just installed our very first skin back recently and we have no js added, only the Christmas snowing thingie.
Forum address: https://graphicballoon.forumotion.com/
Do you have any tips where I should look around to find the thing that's causing the issue?
Thanks for all the help!~

Re: Random popup ads
Hello,
I see that you have the free package on Forumotion.
You can buy with credits on the founder account the or package and with this package disabling the ads on your forum.
Go to your Administration panel > Misc > Credits management > Forumotion Packages
To buy credits for your forum go to: Administration panel > Misc > Credits management > Buy credits
Regards, Joost

Thanks a lot.
So is this expectable from now on without an upgrade?
Some of the ads are malicious.
A screenshot I got from a member and what they said:

Re: Random popup ads
Are these ads from Google? If yes, they are a new way Google advertises.

Re: Random popup ads
Hello,
First of all regarding this screenshot, the alert concerns resources used by the forum theme that have nothing to do with advertisements.
It is therefore necessary to clean up your theme and in particular at the level of the external resources included in your theme.
For example, I think that resources hosted on domains with the .ovh extension are suspect. This is particularly the case with the visit counter in the footer.
The pop-ups that are generated come from the theme and not from the advertisements displayed by Forumotion.
To startn, try to remove the counter widget here:

Yea, it might come from that then.
It's weird, I don't recall having this issue when we used to have this skin and the counter.
Anyway, most likely it's solved then.
Thanks a lot again! I appreciate the help.
