Guests cannot view quote button or reply to posts in a topic
Guests cannot view a "Quote" button on the posts in a thread. They can view the "New Topic" and "Post Reply" button on the top of the topic, but cannot quote/reply to individual posts in the thread.
All my permissions are set for guests to view and reply to messages.
I took some screenshots.
I think this is what logged-in members see:
This is what guests see:
Here are the admin permissions:
I don't understand why there is a problem here?
You will also notice that guests do not see the Profile, PM, and Email buttons on a post either, where as a loggged-in member does. At least I do anyway - I assume members see them also, but I cannot check that.
It's not a browser issue - I've tried Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi - all display the same.

hello
by saying you assume means that you are not a member of that forum?
I am confused, you are able to have access to the admin panel but you can not say if a member can see the buttons?

Have you attempted to create a test account as a "member" to see if those buttons are there? The guests may not also see the "Quote" option as there would be no account to tie that response to. They can still respond to the thread but not actively quote other users on a post.

Yes, I am an admin so I can see everything, but was not sure exactly what a non-admin member can see, I just assumed they could see the quote buttons also. I have since made a test member acct and verified that.skouliki wrote:hello

I am still a bit mystified as to why a guest cannot quote-reply to an individual message in a topic when in in the admin panel permissions I have the "reply to a message" for guests box checked.
Like you said though, guests could still post a reply in the topic, but just not be able to quote. Not a big deal, but it seems odd then that in the admin panel there seems to be a permissions box for it.
I suppose if a guest really felt the need to do a quote-reply, they could just use BB code.

Please don't double post. Your posts need to be separated by 24 hours before bumping. Please use the edit button, instead!
