Coloured letters in username coding issue

Description of problem
Hey there so,I recently added the javascript code from this tutorial to my site, and although the coloured letters work. It is now moving the usernames really high up and to the left.
Is there any way to fixed this and keep the coloured letters?

Are you talking about the usernames in the recent column on the homepage?

Yeah, so at the moment you can see unchanged usernames as normal but mine which has been changed 'Nessa Cordelia Lux' is like sitting between the boards on the column where latest posts are.

Here is a screenshot of how it is appearing to me and my members, the arrow shows where I want the name to be. Like the name 'wes' beneath it is positioned.

Nevermind, I managed to fix it by adjusting my css as the script changes the texts tag from 'strong' to 'font' which forced it into the wrong position.
