Solved Trouble sizing images

Post by azwiz Mon 06 Feb 2023, 04:30

I'm having a new problem sizing images .

Normally if I copy and paste or copy link of an image of size say 960 x 720 . Then post it in my forum . The process first reduces the image and then posts it with the option to enlage .

Now I find that images of that size no longer resize up or down they just post as the original size .

I think this process is broken in my forum . And or there is a better optimal size for posting . Although I would like to avoid resizing the image manually myself . Because there are dozens of them .

Here are examples of first a 960 x 720 image that posts properly . Then a 960 x 720 image that does not . Then a link to ther topic I am referring .

1st image 960 x 720

Trouble sizing images Rdpaup10

1st image proper post

Trouble sizing images Owl10

2nd image 960 x 720

Trouble sizing images 1fy2mb10

2nd image improper post .

Trouble sizing images Post10

You will notice as you scroll down . The high number of posts with no problem . Then it changes and they no longer post correctly . I am still trying to find a size where they will post correctly . Either as a group or individually . It does the same thing . You will also notice that some of the images at the bottom of the page appear to be even larger . They still show to me to be 960 x 720 .

One other thing I must note . All of these that are not resizing . display properly in " PREVIEW " mode . But not once I click send .

What are the dimensions you set to resize the images (from the ACP)?
what is the setting like?

That is up to you, you can set it however you prefer - and you can even only set one (for example only setting the maximum height or maximum width)

Try to play with those values to see if you reach a result that pleasures you Wink

Solved Re: Trouble sizing images

Post by azwiz Mon 06 Feb 2023, 13:37

I am not sure thst too much playing around will make it any different . I first changed it to

H = 450

W = 350

Then H = 350

W = 450

then

H = 450

W = 450

The only changes were with the size of the previously correct images .

The images that remain unchanged . Remain that wey .

Example image not effected by auto sizing .

Trouble sizing images Normal10

Same inage does auto resize in preview mode ( below ) . But does not post that way ( above ) .

Trouble sizing images Normal11

I manually reduced 1 block of images . Even they did not post with the auto resizing

Trouble sizing images Manual10

Manually reduced images post as is . With no auto resizing in preview or posting .

Why do these all of these images show that they are ready to be posted in preview mode ? But do not post this way ?

This seems to be the issue .

Something in the process from preview to post . Prevents proper posting . And NO . I did not have I ever chsnged or sdjusted anything ever . Prior to within the last hour when I adjusted the parameters for resizing images . Those settings have been the same for 10 years .

This is very concerning to me .

Please show this to an imaging expert .

Thank you .

Paul

My advice is DON'T copy and paste from one site to yours.

Reason: When you copy from other sites the image links are hosted by the site you copied from and to load them on your forum is really slow.

when you copy from some other site / forum this is a problem if the images are removed from the other site servers they will go on yours also.

Try and host all of them images your self as the main codes you copy may be the reason why you can't resize the items from your site.
You should always use out host to host your images.

EDIT:

second reason is when you click on an image on your site when you copy and paste you get the problem of sex ad's

Solved Re: Trouble sizing images

Post by azwiz Mon 06 Feb 2023, 15:15

Okay good advice . But not always feasible when trying to post mass images ( pics ) ( blocke ) . Not worth doing 1 at a time .

Anyway . I figured out this problem . After 100 images in ( block ) form as in this scenario . The resizing stops .
So I have already created a psrt 2 to one of the examples . I moved all images above 100 to part 2 . All good .

Problem solved .

Thank you for all your assistance . I will wait a while for you if you want to comment .

What is a sex ad ?

I do not forget . I learned my lesson many years ago .

There is no sex , nudity , or pornography in my site .

Just a few ( comparitively to other content ) sexy gifs , pics , videos .

But no sex , nudity , or pornography in my site .

Thank you for the heads up .
