Choosing A Founder Replacement If You Pass Away

I was wondering if there is a way to designate an admin to become the new founder in the events I (the original founder) pass away unexpectedly.

I am aware there is the six-month since the last log-in avenue, but I would like my forum to have the new founder quicker than that. as well as avoid any nomination/vote from other admins/members on who would become the new founder.

If I wrote a post somewhere sort of as a will, would that be recognized and honored by foruomtionhelp with that designated member being transferred the founder account? Could that also bypass the 6 month no log-in wait?

Lastly, is there a way to transfer the founder account while preserving my original founder's account username and posts?

Yes, I have read all that, which lead me to OP seeking clarification.

There would be an agreement between the original founder (me) and new founder to take over, but it's only if I pass away unexpectedly. Therefore I would not be able to change the email on the forum/founder tools or give them the password. Is saying as much on a public topic on our forum showing our agreement between him and me enough for forumotion to uphold it? Or does it defer to #2 or #3 options, with a 6-month waiting period - and more importantly - other admins/members having to vote who gets the Founder powers? I do not want to leave a power vacuum in my wake, I want to have a smooth transition enforced when I name the successor of the forum.

Lastly, in this process, does the new founder have to take over / change my actual account, so all my posts are now under their new name? There is no way to transfer the Founder powers to their account or a brand new account so that my original founder account remains intact? Or it just gets wiped away like I never existed?

Hi i may have some help here for you.

If you as the founder want to give your forum to someone else then they would take over your account. there is no way to still keep your account after you have gave the account to some one else.

Each member has a number at the end so my number is

Code: u12326

now all founders are

Code: u1

in order for the new admin / founder to take over they need to have the user number of U1 so they take over your account.

This is easy to do just a new Email address never used on any forum before and a password change. it's really that easy for you and us to do.

You as the founder should never give your founders account to anyone not even your best friend.

So I think the best way to pass your forum on when / if you was to pass away is to send the admin of your choice an Email and a PM on the forum saying you wish for them to take over the forum.

have them reply to your PM and Email saying they wish to do as you ask.

then if / when you do pass away we have something to go on and we can then read this as proof.

The email must come from the same email address as the founders account or we may not trust the new admin / founder.
