My forums IP adress for 'A-record' on domain provider

Description of problem
Hi guys!So I have been battling my one.com domain for a while now. At first, the SSL certificate would not work, then my links would not work, and so on.
I have gotten to the stage, after a lot of trial and error together with one.com's costumer service, where the SSL certificate works, and my domain works...
HOWEVER! -the url will not work without the 'www'-part. We have tried every trick up one.com's sleeve with the exception of one thing. An 'A-record' that points to my forums IP adress. Apparently, an 'A-record' will work fine in conjunction with the CNAME-record.
So my question is:
Have any of you tried this before? Does it work?
And also, if this works, where do I find said Ip-adress? (IPv4 it says on one.com?)
EDIT!
The solution I came up with was to use the CNAME record from my domain including 'www', to my forums forumotion-url, and the make a "Web-forward" from my domain url without the 'www'-part to my domain with the 'www'-part.
This seems to work just fine.
Thank you in advance!
Cheers!
S?rmark

Re: My forums IP adress for 'A-record' on domain provider
I am really not sure on this one as i don't use any domain name outside of the ACP. and our host.
I will tag @The Godfather to take a look at this for you as it would need a Pro team to tell you if we can help.
PS: please note we have a staff shortage at the moment in our head office so this may take a little time.
Regards.

Perfect.
I dont really understand why this happens, and neither does one.com. So it is a bit of a headscratcher.
No worries about the staff shortage. Im not in a hurry,I would just like to get i sorted, as this domain business is getting a bit annoying
And as always, thank you Ape!
Cheers

Re: My forums IP adress for 'A-record' on domain provider
Hello @Særmark
I am sorry for this late answer
We only host subdomains for an external domain, namely:
- something.myforum.com
- forum.myforum.com
- www.myforum.com
But not the root domain: myforum.com
So you have to make a 301 redirection from pokemonforumet.dk to www.pokemonforumet.dk with your registrar.
I hope this answers your question.
Regards

Re: My forums IP adress for 'A-record' on domain provider
Hi @Luzz and thank you for your answer!
one.com was not able to help me with a 301 redirect, and unfortunately I don't know how to do it!
But i think that I FINALLY got it to work.
I remade the old CNAME record from www.pokemonforumet.dk to pokemondk.forumotion.eu, and then made a web-forward from pokemonforumet.dk to www.pokemonforumet.dk
Its really not a neat solution, but for now it seems to work. I hope this can help someone else in the future, because it has been a real headache.
I will edit my first post with my solution, in case anyone else may find themselves in a similar situation.
Thank you for all your help!
Im marking this as solved
