Do you think this is a good idea?
Automerge Double Post
First topic message reminder :
I think there should be a option that admin's can choose weither their site doesn't allow double posts. The post that the person does after their own post merges into the first post, if you get what I mean. Do you think this is a good idea?
Edit:
More suggestions:
1/ The automerge only happens until the time you set it to allow another post.
2/ There will be a option to disable this option.

Re: Automerge Double Post
I voted yes! vBulliton has this, and it works well. It would stop lots of spam double posting, and it's so much easier then editing.
Also, at least on vbulliton, they thread still bumps if your posts merge.
I do see your point, but on vBulliton, posts DON'T merge if they were posted 24 hours apart.Guest wrote:Sorry, but I've voted No.
Think about this: A member posts on a thread, then 1 week later wants to bump it with a double post which is acceptable over a 24 hour period, how will he be able to do this, because the post will just merge with the old one.
See my point?

Re: Automerge Double Post

Re: Automerge Double Post
Nothing ever really gets integrated. I've never seen anything been updated by the polls, and probably never will.
Re: Automerge Double Post
I vote no. It doesn't seem like a necessity because mods can merge posts manually.
