Solved Give "founder"/administrator permissions to another.

Post by Jonni June 11th 2009, 11:33 pm

How do I give my permission as a administrator to another person.

Actually we are both administrator's but still I have more permissions because i'm the founder. How do I give my permissions to him, so he's actually gonna be the founder?

To give founder permissions to another member, go to admin panel > users and groups > group administration > adminiistrators > edit
and make that member the group moderator. But be careful--that means the person could delete you from your own forum! And I do not know if you will still be an administrator or not. I would advise against it...

It's okay, we are best friends and own the forum together but i'm most online so it's not nice when I wanna do something and I can't because he's the founder.

We both agree with this..

Actually i've already tried it but it just updates and says:
Permissions updated correctly. (Or something like that)

But still it's the same ...? It won't change :s -He's still the founder Sad

You can't make another user a founder. He must be an admin, only you are the founder, you could give him the account though.

This is correct, you cannot give another user "founding" permissions.

However, if the founder makes a new account, and you make it an admin, oyu both can share the founding account, and the IP log (under security) will track who has done what. Cool

The founder can change the URL of the forum, and all associated money matters.
The founding profile cannot be altered by anyone other than the account holder.

Any other admin can do the same has then founding account otherwise.
