Some misunderstandings
ye, i have created
http://fireplanet.motionsforum.com/
and
http://khazad-dum.motionsforum.com/
I've accidently hosted 2 forums, I didn't know how to change my address, sorry for that. Now I wanna ask you, if you can delete fireplanet.com, so that I can use the e-mail of the fireplanet site for my current forum. Furthermore I can't upload files on my sites, is that normal?
thanks for your help,
twins

Re: Some misunderstandings
Open the ACP in advanced (on Fire Planet) -> General -> Forum Deletion -> Type delete in the box -> Click the Delete button.
As for the uploading, if you mean straight to the admin panel, it's not possible. You can only add attachments to posts.

Re: Some misunderstandings
When you type in delete, it has to be in all caps.

Re: Some misunderstandings
Ok thanks.
Another question: Is it possible to add signature pictures? (like 500x100) I can only add a text, and I was already looking through all categories, trying to find something about that issue, but I didn't.
Btw do you know if it is possible to change the profile order if you read someones posts on the forums? I consider adding badges for the single groups I made, and I think it would look better if the badges where shwon below the avatar, instead of above the avatar. The best would be below the Avatar with a space between badge and avatar
ty for your help

Re: Some misunderstandings
As far as the signature picture goes Twins, you copy the image location from the picture or the picture you uploaded to a photo sharing site. Simply right click the picture or desired signature and click copy image url. Then return to your forum, go to profile->signature-> insert the image url in the box provided then save.
And for the badges t
Admin Panel=>Users&Groups=>Users=>Profiles=> Text Zone (add the desired medals/badges image urls side by side to give it a column look
Type: Text Zone
Name: Medals
Necessarily filled: No
Preview: Profile and messages
Display type: Icon
Who can modify the profile field value: Moderators
Display this field for users that are at least: guests
( this is just an example edit form, you dont have to use the same exact XD)
really hope this helps
and best of luck

Re: Some misunderstandings
That is perfectly understandable, sorry for not being more clear with my statement. ^__^
Admin Panel=>Users&Groups=>Users=>Profiles=>
after that you will see a drop down menu, form there you will do the following as I listed above earlier.
Type: Text Zone
Name: Medals
Necessarily filled: No
Preview: Profile and messages
Display type: Icon (you can do both text and icon if you wish to see the name of the icon beside or anywhere near the icon, if you just strictly want the image just select icon)
Who can modify the profile field value: Moderators
Display this field for users that are at least: guests (this will determine who sees the specified field, such as if you select guests, people who visit your site will see said icons before they register, I generally select member or guest, but it is entirely your choice.)
Hope I was more clear with this one, best of luck to you

Re: Some misunderstandings
You mean just a specific badge for your staff
this can be done the same way, just give said staff members the special
badge, putting the badge image url into their text zone (only staff)
that way it will be displayed for them only and no other member that is not staff.

Re: Some misunderstandings
It's a bit complicated^^
I want that everyone can see the staff icon of a staff member on the forums, but only staff people can wear them. For example, all the time they psot in a topic, there should be a staff badge below their avatars.

Re: Some misunderstandings
Are you talking of a Rank tag or image that specifies that they are indeed staff
or are you speaking of a tiny icon Badge below their avatar, sorry for taking so long to help out, I just need to be assured on what you are talking about.

Re: Some misunderstandings
It should be an image, which is for staff members. A Moderator badge for example.
like here, the green badge, exactly something like that is what I'm thinking off.

Re: Some misunderstandings
Well it can be done either way you wish to do it
You can make a badge with the staff indication on it.
Or you can do it an easier way and apply it to your ranks.
this can be done by doing the following
Admin Panel=>Users&Groups=>Rank Administration=>Add new rank
when you go to add a new rank you can input the following
Rank Title : Staff
Set as Special Rank : Yes
Rank Image URL (http://URL_RANK_IMAGE.gif) : (here you will copy and paste the image url and save it)
Now do you want it to be below the avatar picture
or above it?
It is defaulted above, if you want it below I can give you a link for a tut.

Re: Some misunderstandings
Ouch unfortunately my version is phpBB, not phpBB2
Furthermore, I only want my badge below my Avatar, not the name too. Sigh I think I can forget all that and have to find another solution (yes I am picky, i know )

Re: Some misunderstandings
Not yet ^^
another issue:
http://khazad-dum.motionsforum.com/forum.htm
Can I fix it somehow that the widget doesn't cut the Forum? Right above my first forum, you can see "Khazad-dûm" is cut in 2 peaces by the widget.
+ can anyone tell me if I have the possibility to put a space between the badge and the Avatar?
http://khazad-dum.motionsforum.com/news-f2/new-tdh-update-coming-t39.htm
ty for help (again^^)

Re: Some misunderstandings
if your going to ask another question it is best to start a new thread so this thread can be locked for the first question/problem you have asked about.
Anyway since it's here now we will just leave it.
What forum version are you using?

Re: Some misunderstandings
try going to the Forum widgets management and adjusting from there.
Admin panel>modules>forum widgets>
Width column 1 (left) = 180 : pixels
Width column 3 (right) = 0 : pixels
Space between two widgets : = 3
Space between columns : = 1
then hit save..
you can also adjust it to how you like it best.. but i would leave 180 pixels and just fiddle with the other two until you get it how you want.
