You're adding the codes in posts?

You should put it in templates if you want to have it displayed in topics/posts. To have it display there it would be viewtopic_body template.

For anything else I need to see the whole code you are adding.

where do you want to put your html code for adsense? where do you want it to appear?

did you purchase for a credits to disable the ads provided by forumotion? if you did then go to AP > module > javascript then paste your google adsense code.

Alternative solution if you dint yet buy some credits: create a widget then paste your google ads code into it position your ads 160x600 to one column of your page to fit your page, left or right

my ads dint also appearing on my forum.. it is only appearing on my homepage that's why i created a widget and placed it at the side of my pages allowing it to show whenever you clicked home, groups etc...

i think you need to purchase for a credits before using these javascript features. some staff said that although you dint buy some credits you can use the java script features but i think it is not. you must have to buy in order to use the feature.

on your question i try that before consult these forum for an answer and they says that it is not allowed to post adsense content or any java script top or below your posting area..

visit my page to see an example: just clicked on my profile

My adsense wouldn't show up, I bought some credits to remove the forumotion ads. Didn't seem to work.

Do I have to do something different with the adsense javascript code before I apply it to a widget? I also tried adding it as a site javascript with no luck.

Any tips appreciated!

You do not have to have credits to use the Javascript feature.

but why? what is the reasons why our java script wont appears? we are using these java script features on AP > modules > java script management

what we must have to do in order these code will appear..

i am trying to add a meebo nav bar for me to enable chatting just like on my yearbook. and nothings happened

google adsense wont show up also. isnt that google ads is a form of java script code?

do we miss something in order for us to enable this features?

It could be the code was entered wrong, or you have not added the HTML address in the right place. Or it will not work on Forumotion.

I believe we are getting off-topic. This thread is about ads.

P.S. After enrtering a Javascript code, sometimes you have to use the link you get somewhere in the administration panel.

Solved Re: Html of google adsense

Post by gjoe October 8th 2011, 12:39 pm

Is there anyone on the forum currently running their own adsense code?

I would think you can just cut and paste the script into a forum widget. However, that does not work, at least for me. Maybe I have some obscure setting wrong?

But when I cut and pasted an amazon.com script in a widget, that displays fine. I've been using adsense for my main site for 2 months and have started a forumotion account here recently to begin a forum for my site. My ads display fine on my main site, so there's nothing wrong with my adsense account.

Please, someone! This is really confusing.

Important Question: Have you use credit to remove the original ads? Google does not allow you to have two accounts on the same forum.

Solved Re: Html of google adsense

Post by kirk October 13th 2011, 6:25 am

i think this will have to be placed in a template,
Just because you add a code to the java page dose not mean everything is going to work in there.

for phpbb3 or invision forums, i would try top place on the home page announcement, or the homepage messages. If it's not working in the widgets then it's because it's conflicting with other widgets or just plain not compatible with widgets.

For punn or phpbb2.
The best place would be to place it at the very top of the overall header code, there is no reason to put them in a post, or even a post body template.
If you have it in the over all header, or footer it will appear on every page.

Also if you are one that did not but credits to remove forumotion adds out of the equation, then please do not even ask until you have them removed.

I am going to go get it now just to see how it all works,
I did not plan on spending credits on a test forum to t6est goggle ad sense.
But obviously yous are not doing something right.

Also feel free to contact Google, after all it is their coding.

Other then that i am going to set it up my self on my test forum and will let you know how i make out. I know people have been adding their own adsense to forumotion forms for a long time and never had problems before. so not sure whats up with it until I test and see for my self Smile

info added
Ok well looks like i have to wait for google now.
And everyone please be sure to read all they have,
Be sure your account is not put on hold, or you broke their TOS or polices in anyway.
Dose this even work, I dont see how you can make any real money with this unless you had a site will thousands of people coming through day in and day out.
But who knows. i am going to remove my forumotion ad's now since i have to wait for Google, i am sure it will take a day or two for it to go through forumotion as well?

So will let you know how i make out once everything is ready.

Oh be sure you buy enough credits to remove the ad's for both members and guest.
Because you wont be able to do just members or the ad's are technically still on the page for guest, so you will have to buy credits to remove ad;s for both members and guest

I have tried everything. I have turned off adds for both members and guests, turned off the forumotion links, tried placing the code in widgets, on the welcome message, and in the javacript management....yet nothing works. My Adsense account is working fine. The only conclusion I can come to is that there is something wrong on Forumotion's end with getting rid of there Adsense code even though I turned there Ads off.

Solved Re: Html of google adsense

Post by kirk October 13th 2011, 7:10 pm

well you know that you will only have blank ad's that blend in with your background for 4 days first right?

Be sure to check any info in your account, and or to contact google for any help as well.

Here is some of the info they just sent me, i dont have to go there yet and set it up right now but will latter when i get home from work.

So here this from google.

We have completed a partial review of your application, and you may begin placing AdSense code on your site. In order to help you begin using Google AdSense as fast as possible, we will conduct a further review after you’ve placed the AdSense code on your site. We will notify you of full approval or disapproval within four (4) business days.

Please note that initially, instead of live ads, you will see blank ads - the ad unit box will blend in with the background of your webpage. This occurs because your account is still under review. We cannot complete our review of your application until you have placed the AdSense code on your site and are sending us ad requests.

Once you have been fully approved, we will notify you by email, and you will begin seeing live ads appear on your site. You will not need to take further action to start earning revenue.

Even after approval, we continuously review all accounts for compliance with our policies. If any violations are detected, your account may be disapproved or ad serving to your pages may be stopped. If at any time you are not seeing ads appear, we recommend that you log into your AdSense account and examine any messages that may appear.

yeah it must be the others did not wait the 4 days to be approved first?
I have mine on my test forum and it;s just blank/not showing. but Google said it would be like this for four days.

However i am not liking this on fire fox at all, it seems my page just keeps loading and loading and loading.. i cant have that garbage, but it's not doing it on other browsers so dunno.

The whole thing just seems like a big scam on Google part, meaning Google is the only one that is going to make any real money from it.
Unless you have a site or hosting company like forumotion with thousands upon thousands of people coming through, you will not see any real money.
I would not recommend anyone to use this unless you have a huge site with many people coming through..

Even with large host such as forumotion, they can not make enough money to stay a float along with a profit from ad's alone, Then in return of all the people that use this. Google is laughing all the way to the bank.

Of course you are not going to make money unless you have a high traffic site, that is common sense. Why should advertisers pay to be on a low traffic site? I know many people who generate a substantial amount of income from Adsense. It does not work for everyone, but it is definitely not a scam.

Well i dint mean it in the context of it being a real scam.
Sure they will pay, but my point was Google is the only one that is going to make any real money from it. And it's business so why shouldn't they. But to me it seems like way to much to go through if you do not have the amount of people to generate a fair amount of revenue each month.

Anyway , sorry for getting a little off topic, my bad, i just spent to long reading everything there and testing it on my forum. So i am a little cranky... hahah
But if it will help everyone resolve their problem and they get it working then it worth it to me.
After all thats what we are here for Smile And at least i have a little more incite and information to help answer other members that may run into problems thumright

And hey now that i have it i My's well try to add where i can.
