Forum dividers Empty Forum dividers

Post by jrt2345 September 23rd 2012, 12:28 am

I have tried the categories and forums in admin panel, but as of yet I cannot find how to divide the forum into sections/categories and for it to actually show when visiting the forum, as currently all the topics are in one long list of titles, no break in the categories. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

A small tip, the one that is mostly chosen is, Split categories on index : Medium.

I mean write the text in the category option and the category to appear so members see the different sections not just one line of forum headings. I tried what you said but it just split them up into individual forums, instead of having two or three then dividing it. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Do as Sir Chivas has suggested to split your categories & sort your forums into each category as you want them to be arranged.

To name the different categories go to your Admin Panel>>General>>Forums>>Categories & forums & click on to the Edit icon for each of your categories & name them in the box provided, click Save & repeat for each category

It makes them all seperate though each forum is on it's own, I want to have two or three forums under the same heading without being split and then for another heading to start afterwards and to show. Doing what sir chivas said just makes every title of the forums into ones of their own, like a space in between. What you said doesn't explain it.

Do think you will have to explain exactly what you wish to do much more clearly.

The advice Sir Chivas & myself gave you would enable you to make categories with as many forums in each one as you would like to have.

There are bound to be tutorials on how to achieve the end result you want within the FAQs & Tips & Tricks up at the top of the page.
