Solved Purchasing of domain Questions/Issues

I purchased a domain name at
Fri 19 Oct 2012 - 16:39 Customized domain name booking
So 4:39pm it is now 5:00pm Oct 21 2012

I'm just wondering; how come the domain purchase is not instant? how long is the wait usually? Are they not purchased on weekends? (only business days) etc. Its not a really big issue but I'm kinda needing the domain very soon is all as a deadline is almost up for me. :/ I would go ahead and purchase it through someone else but I'm not sure how well forumotion is about refunding something such as a domain register and it not being delivered :c

Do you happen to know the maximum amount of
(it may be more)
it would be.? Latest date? Sorry for a rush or anything I just would like to know an approximate time span if i have to extend my deadline date.. :/
