Post by GoldenUruz February 6th 2013, 8:06 am

Hello everyone.
I am hoping that someone here can help me with a problem I am having on my forum. (And Im noticing it happening here as well)

When a member (or myself) is typing and go to use the format buttons at the top of the screen, this text field will drop down out of sight and cover the Options below Preview/Send. Let me grab some before and afters for you all.

BEFORE
Composing Message/Post Problem 32zufj6

AFTER
Composing Message/Post Problem 1i0uwg

Since it's happening to me even as I type this post, I'd like to know what I can do to fix this problem as it's very aggravating. My forum is in Phpbb3 coding and I am using the Chrome browser, if that helps at all. You can find the link to it here: The Forum Link

Thank you for your time and assistance, I hope this issue can be resolved quickly!

Further information...

I can fix this by moving my mouse to a section of forum to the right or left that does not produce help text. I can stop it from happening if my browser is zoomed in to about 125%, which shouldn't have to be done. It also doesn't seem to occur in Firefox browsers.

As I said in the second comment, the problem doesn't occur in Firefox. Just Chrome. Smile

What settings does your Chrome have? Maybe it's something I can turn off.

I'm not exactly sure. Maybe it's one of your add-ons? Try disabling them one at a time if you have any and seeing if the problem persists.

Do either of you know if there is a part of the CSS that will allow me to make the space between the editing buttons and text box larger? Perhaps that will fix the problem.

Yes I do. But not when I'm using quick reply, just in the full posting. The screenshots provided are from THIS forum as I was creating the support thread.

So, changing the CSS isn't a solution.

The technicians seem to think that it can be related to your cache also. Or your display resolution.

Can you please tell me if that happens with one particular option or every option randomly ?

You can inform the techs that I have clear my all-time Cache for the entirety of my browser on Chrome, and it happens with all of the buttons - I think it's related to the display of the help text above the text input field because when that isn't being displayed, the box doesn't move.

If the help texts were the issue, we would all get the problem too.

Since you're the only one who gets it, can I suggest you to change your display resolution to see if this works ?

My computer display resolution? Or the resolution of the forum?
If you mean the forum, could you direct me where to do so? Also, other members of my forum see the problem as well - as it happens to them. They actually brought it to my attention lol

Not on the forum, on your computer.
What is your display resolution at this time ?

Thank you very much - if it helps, my browser is also maximized, though when it's smaller or the same size the problem still arises Smile

Hello,

It seems that a possible issue has been found by the techs.

That's a glitch with the Main Font Size of the text.
In your Admin Panel :

Display >> Pictures and Colors >> Colors. The Main Font Size must be over 10.

But that's really weird in your case because you're size is 10 mwii
And I can't reproduce this issue on your forum.

Can you please confirm that you still have this issue? (even here, on the ESF?)
