Solved How can I be a member of my own board?

Post by Don Wiley March 22nd 2013, 7:59 pm

apologize if this is stupid, but I cannot solve it. How can I join my own board? I sent myself an invitation using a different email from the Admin one. But, when I reply to that invitation, I go to the board with me already logged in as Admin

I think accessing from user side will help me to better understand how things work. I think I may have somewhere along the line used an email that I can no longer access, because I do get a msg that my username is already taken.

Thank you

You cannot be logged in under both identities at the same time.

I always had a member which I would name Tester as a username. This I would use to view things as a regular member if I wanted, or if I needed one of my forumotion staff friends (I'm a veteran staffer here), to go in and take a look at something, without them needing to register if they didn't want to, or for speed to get them in.

But you can't be both at the same time. At least that is what my recollection was, but then again it's been a very long time since I did support here, or even used my forums. So I could be remembering incorrectly.

If I am not remembering correctly. You have to log out as admin >> register with new id using a different email addy >> log back in as admin >> approve membership >> log out as admin >> verify account with new membership and log in.

I believe that if you use another browser, you can then log in as both. One on one browser, one on the other. hehehe My memory is starting to come back as I type. LOL I recommend Firefox and Chrome, as IE is not stable or secure. Also recommend the add on extensions AdBlock Plus on both of those browsers listed.

I also recommend the add-on DoNotTrackMe by Abine for firefox. I am not positive if it's also available for Chrome users, since I removed my Chrome a long time ago.

I've also done support prior to when I did support here on forumotion, for malware removal sites, and educating ppl about computer security. So IMHO AdBlock Plus and DoNotTrackMe are both ESSENTIAL add-on extensions for Firefox, and Chrome.

Sorry that part is a bit off topic, but in my suggestion or answer, I suggested to use 2 different browsers and I cannot in my right mind suggest the browsers without suggesting the security that goes behind it, as much much added protection!

I ended up changing my user name - I think my first name was hung up in gmail which I refuse to use any longer.

Thanks. Great leap forward
