Error Code #230 - it's BACK!!

I found a post in the archives about this ... from back in 2010 ... and it was supposedly fixed ... but I just opened my forum this week, and about 10-20% of people who are trying it are getting this error message.

Any thoughts on what might be causing it?  The 2010 post mentioned Chrome and Firefox as problem browsers .. the people who are having trouble use Chrome, but I, as an Administrator, use Chrome too and I have never had any troubles with sign ups.

Is it possible it's the old "clean out your cache" thing?  Any workarounds?  I've tried setting up a couple of people myself, but they still can't access the forum even after I give them a username and password.

Hi,

The problem was fixed, and still remains not being a bug :-)

Simply do this in ur admin panel:
General >> Forum >> Security
Unauthorize unofficial forms to post messages and private messages on the forum = No
Save.

I'm sorry, RadioHead ... I forgot to mention that I already made that change last night, after reading the archived forum on the topic.  Just checked it again to make sure it was still set correctly, and it was.

But 2 more people today have gotten this message.

Have you tried clearing the cache & cookies of your browser?
There may be conflicting cookies somewhere causing this issue, and if it works for you, it should for your members :-)

Thanks, I will tell them to try that.  I'm not getting the message, and not all of my members are, so I had a feeling it was something like that - some people never clear their cache, cookies, etc.  I will let them know.  Appreciate the quick response!
