If you could blocked the email that sending you spam, that can be a good way to prevent it from sending a spam email again.

Hi,
I'm not sure if you mean this: I got spam messages in the past they were sent not to me but to moderators and certain members. It stopped by de-activating the contact form:
In your ACP (advanced mode) go to General > Messages & E-mails > E-mails & Contact Form > Contact Form
Activate : No.
Allow external links and emails : No.
Recipients : Administrators
Message format : Private Message
Also, I introduced a minimum of 1 post to be able to send messages through the PM system, so I can always find the spammer's IP address and block them that way. In your ACP (advanced mode) go to General > Messages & Emails > Private Messages > Select "Minimum posts before sending private messages : 1" or whatever count you feel comfortable with.

I think she means that there is a person using her "forum name" to email members to scam/spam.

If someone's really spoofing an email address, there's little you can do. I'd change all my passwords for starters, notify my ISP / FM and there's always the email header which can prove you were not the sender.

I believe she means that someone is using the email option on the forum to send members emails. Are members' email addresses visible to guests. It could be that they are pressing the email button in members' profiles.

Providing a screen dump would be very helpful in this case. Could you please provide us with one? Thanks!
