Post by Van-Helsing on Tue Jan 24, 2017 11:40 pm

Hello dear all,
I created this topic to inform f/m users for mozilla firefox latest updates. Mozilla just released final version of FireFox to version 51. This update makes firefox working faster and using less resources than previous versions.

Hello Wink

I had this update about 3 weeks a go it was a patch to fix lots of bugs from the update last time it has also updated some bugs.
Now if you still find some bugs the best way to fix this is to Delete Firefox from your computer then follow this link
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer

Then restart your computer then install firefox again.

also if you want to save your bookmarks and toolbars then you may want to read here
http://www.wikihow.com/Export-Bookmarks-from-Firefox

any problem please feel free to ask me Smile

APE.

I am still having issues since the 51 updates. The menus on my forums that should be in color are not working.

The best thing to do a complete backup of your FF is the extenxion FEBE
Full copy of bookmarks, add-ons, extensions, preferences ... etc .Then from the menu tools -> FEBE you can restore everything or make backups every time you add something new to your browser.
Essential for me to take my complete firefox with me wherever I have to open it, or if I had to format or change my computer.

Yes, it appears any other plugin than Flash will not be supported through the Netscape Plugin API. Most developers are told to offload the Java code into a Java Web Start, which would make it much easier and faster, not to mention more secure overall. It's all in preparation for the Unity Web technology to improve media. It's once again enforcement to ensure people comply with new security standards... By having an overall functionality instead of several, potentially insecure, functionalities - new security standards can be implemented (look at the Not Secure warning feature). WebAssembly has been welcomed in, and this will cause many to think twice on which plugins to use for their sites. Even though Flash may be used, HTML5 should be used over it.

However, I believe the most important update is the following, which may hang many developers up and non-developers as to why their codes do not work properly or that information is not being saved:
Mozilla Release Notes wrote:Implemented the Strict Secure Cookies specification which forbids insecure HTTP sites from setting cookies with the "secure" attribute. In some cases, this will prevent an insecure site from setting a cookie with the same name as an existing "secure" cookie from the same base domain.
