Links going awry? Potential anti-spam system?
I’ll try to explain this problem as best I can as I’m not the one experiencing it, he’s the forum creator and I’m the co-admin and he said he’d rather have me ask the question since I already have the forummotion account here
He’s using the forummotion to set up a sort of compendium for his story and has been making placeholder topics for the last few hours. He’s completed about 70 of them and now when he tries to go back to view one’s he’s already completed, its automatically directing to the first topic in the forum. No matter which topic he clicks on, it’ll load that welcome topic.
This only is happening on his end, not mine. My question is, did he somehow trigger some sort of anti-spam system for the forum? What might cause this?
We tried a browser reset and that changed nothing. He’s very paranoid about clearing the cache because he swears he’s lost data that way in the past so he won’t touch that despite my best attempts at quelling the concern. This is chrome. Not sure what version, though.
Edit: it seems that this is happening to not all of the links. It sounds like it's only a few of them.
Doing Shift+F5 didn't help either.

If he was doing all this in a short period of time, this issue can occur. Ask him to clear his browser's history and cache. This has happened to me on my 2 forums before I switch over to ForumsClub.

Unfortunately a history wipe isn't possible. He's working through catching up on a lot of tabs related to his work. A cache cleaning didn't help either.
This seems to be only occuring two 4 links at the moment. None of which I have issues with either. New topics link just fine. Seems like there's some sort of issue with those 4 links for him. It's strange.

Ask him to check after he logs out of the browser, turns off the computer, and turn it back on again.

Halo Missy
Have you tried to open your site by incognito mode (Ctrl+Shift+N) yet?

I will have him give that a try! As of today so far the links are still directing indirectly. But maybe that'll help. Fingers crossed.
