Is talking about downloading mobile games against the rules?

I'm not fully sure if it's allowed or not cause there are loadsa official sites giving stuff away for free, so I don't know whether to punish my members or not.

It's only illegal if you are sharing links to get cracked or copyright games. If they are free anyway from the offical sites then there won't be a problem.

But how do I know if they're free anyway. I don't know all the mobile games out there. Maybe there's some 'unofficial' sites that share stuff that is free...

By the sites you are getting them from, if the site belongs to eg: the phone company then you are fine. If you are getting anything from a file sharing site, then it is more than likely to be illegal, not only that, but you are very likely to virus's & spyware on your computer, it's just not worth the risk for many reasons. If no one has put any links to file sharing sites, on your forum then you should be fine. Smile

I think actually hosting the games is illegal but allowing links to other sites can't be.

Whether or not Forumotion allow links to illegal sites is another matter but the link itself is not illegal. The site is..

If the download link takes you to an illegal download then yes it is against Forumotion's terms of service.

yeah it dont matter if the link is on forumotion or leading to another place where the link is located. if the link is going to something to where they are sharing something for illegal downloads then it would not be allowed. but now if it is something for the public and free for use then it would be allowed.

that's like saying you do not have any porn images on your forum but you have links leading to it on other sites.. no this would not be allowed.

Can i state a sample? If a mobile theme was created by a user but the materials were from an anime (wallpaper, ringtones, mp3, screensaver).. Is it illegal? The theme is free.. Because it is distributed free by ownskin.com..
Or opera mini.. Opera mini is free to download.. Can we redistribute it? Of course we would redistribute it for free again..
