Birthdays in Profile - Will no longer accept without year - its changed?

Another recent change that has come to light.

Until recently, my forums' members have always been able to add just date and month of birthday in their Profiles. I have encouraged this for two reasons - one for risk of identity fraud, and the other because some members prefer not to have their age displayed. This has always previously worked OK with just date and month, and the birthdays displayed on the Calendar, and Zodiac sign etc in Profile and posts.

But now this has changed. In the members "update profile" space it will no longer accept birthdays without the year. Why is this? I have discovered I can remove the year by going into my Admin Panel - one member at a time, but that's a bit of a nuisance. How can I change it back to how it was please?

You can't you can tell your members to make as fake age.

No not to make a fake age. Just to put birthday date without the year at all. It's always worked before. For example - I've fixed it in my own profile - to show just 9th January. This puts my birthday on the Calendar for 9th January, and in my Profile & by the side of my posts it just shows my Zodiac sign and not my age.

PS - I realise that on this support forum - it insists on full birthday. I would prefer my age not to be shown if there was a choice.

I agree with this question. I have been asked to remove birthdays from showing as some of my more senior members do not want to show their age nor the year but are happy to show month and date. I would like to offer this to them so how may it be fixed rather than asking them to commit fraud by entering a fake date!

Yes but it is the year we dont want to have showing or indeed have to fill in we just want month and date. Do you know if there is a way we can avoid the year part?

Never mind it did not work.

Why not, just choose to not show the birthday and make a new profile field that only allows you to pick between options , months and dates; They would have to choose it once and that's it. nothing to do with the year, and it's something you can control.

I don't think you'd be able to do that or that it would be the solution Malcrony. We want the birthday (day and month) to display without the year, but also for this to create the entry on the "birthdays in next 14 days" automatic function, and the Zodiac sign to display in Profile.
