Solved Re: suspicious activity

Post by Codyy Sat 7 Jan 2012 - 3:29

If it is on this support forum, what was your username?

If it is on your own forum, it is possible that you're entering the wrong username and password. You'l need to use the forum utilities to retrieve your password. (https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/)

If it is on another forum, it is possible that the forum administrators deleted/banned your account without a proper reason, that you're knowledgeable of. This can be made for no reason at all, and at the discrete of the administrator of that forum.

Hope this helps. Smile

Basically when I try and log into the forum I joined, I get redirected to that onlineguardian thing and have to put my username in and the code that they show. But after the first time I do that, I get a random site that says 'skip ad' in the top corner. I've also asked the admins if they've banned me, and they said no. I don't get what's going on.

Have you press the skip ad button in the top right corner?

From what it sounds like, Online Guardian has blocked this website and the ads that the website you're trying to access, still has ads activated of their own kind. Could we please get a link to the forum?

I was able to register an account on the website, however the registration confirmation email never came. Would you mind PMing me the username and password you're trying to use to access the forum? This is completely optional.

EDIT at 12:28 PM CST:
Hey! I used the login detail you sent me and I know exactly what's wrong! When logging in, it says this:
We have detected suspicious activity related to your email. To unlock your account, please click here and complete the form.

Click here to return to the Index
I entered the form that was required for you, and it said that it was unlocked. I'm sure this is not an instant activation. It will take around an hour to get it unlocked. If it is still not unlocked, please let the forum administrator know as he may be capable of activating your account.

Hi,

Do you by any chance get redirected to fill in a form?
If so, what happens when you fill it in and submit it?
Can we get a screenshot of the issue please?

Sometimes Online Guardian will deactivate an account if it has an unusual email address or has characteristics of a spammer.

Does it by any chance say this:

We have detected suspicious activity related to your email. To unlock your account, please click here and complete the form.

Click here to return to the Index

If so, please fill in the form and it should unlock your account.

If not,
what error is given?

Does this count email addresses that seem like they could be jibberish but just is a really weird name? Or using common proxy IP address or proxy in general?

That's absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary in my case, though I understand that others may want it... There should definitely be an option.
Thanks.
