Disappearing thread that wasn't deleted by us

One of our admins did a routine happy birthday thread for a member. A few min later, I went to post in it and it was no longer there. I was in chat with the admin who started it and he hadn't deleted it. He just reposted it.

The fact that it disappeared in the first place seems to point to a database problem, so I am posting it here.

We are absolutely certain that it was neither moved nor deleted by any one of the admins at our forum.

It could have reached the limit for replies and was automatically locked. Because it was automatically locked a new thread was created. Could this be it?

We figured out what happened to the old thread, I posted it in the wrong forum by accident. So everything is good.
