How to show oldest posts first

Currently my forums is set to show the newest posts first in the thread.
I would like to reverse this and have the original posts be displayed first.

When I reply to a post, my reply becomes the first post of the thread when it is opened instead of the original post. I want it to read like a story so to speak. I want it ot be read from beginning to end, not from the last (most recent post) to the original post (first post). Does that help clarify?

You could try this:
Admin Panel -> General -> Messages & e-mails -> Configuration -> Always show the first post in the topic "Yes"

I did change this to yes but it didn't seem to help.

This shows the newest post being the first in the thread. The 2nd post should be the one shown first in order of the thread.

I think this is where I'm missing a setting though. I created a 3rd post in the same thread and they are all reversed. The newest post (I just posted 5 seconds ago) is the first post listed in the thread. I want the post I just posted to be the LAST in the thread because it is the newest post.
