How do I change and move the category

In a forum you have the forum categories, like, Welcome or Other Problems etc, and how this forum has, About Forumotion, Support Forum, Other Services etc. Well, I would like to add them to my forum, those large headings above the categories, how do I do that?

AP > Display > Structure and hiyrerhy > Split categories on index > Medium

Thanks for your help, but now how do I put the different forum categories under their correct heading and how do I change the heading names? I already have 20 different forum categories...

Please change the title of your topic, that is related to your question/issue, so that other users will be able to find their question/issue using the search engine.

To change the category name, go to:
Admin Panel >> General >> Categories & Forums >> Modify the category >> Category name >> Save

I see what you mean, but in the list of all the categories it says there aren't any. All the forums are there, but not the categories...

I believe you are getting categories and forums mixed up.

Ah, yes, In the beginning I was... But how come none of the categories are showing in the list like where all the forums are... In the legend blue is category, green is forum... They are all forums yet all the categories have been created. One category for each forum. I would like to change the category names and which forums should belong to those categories. But because they aren't in the list, I can't do that...

For a category to be shown, it must have forums ATTATCHED to it. Make sure under the the forum is ATTATCHED to the category you want.

The category will show as in the:
Admin Panel > General > Categories & Forums

Just create a new category by clicking the add button, make sure you have this set:
Choose the kind of forum you want : Category

This is the only since you can't change a forum into a category once its created.

But now how do I get rid of all those other categories I don't want... They aren't on the list along with all the forums and my forum looks terrible...



And as you scroll down it becomes hard to see and confusing...

Simply use the delete button to delete categories, then choose where to move the forums, you may attach it to a category for it to appear as a forum or to a forum for it to appear as a sub forum.

I wish I could... see here, it says there is no categories o.O But the problem is, by the last image I showed you there is! One category for each forum!!!

That looks strange, maybe a problem with the forum theme itself, have you tried another theme?

Admin Panel > Display > Structure & Hierarchy > Split categories on index : Set it to 'Medium' > Save

First can you please try installing a new theme(at least 2-3 themes and see if it will change anything) for the forum as this may be a theme problem. I am sure that this is a problem with some themes on hitskins.com
