Is their a way to hide the visitor messages tab?

I basically just want this disabled as I find without a notification system this option is rather useless.

Administration Panel > Users & Groups > Users > Profiles
General Options Tab
Tabs to display: (uncheck the visitor messages)

When your topic has been solved, ensure you mark the topic solved.
Never post your email in public.
