finding a hacker
Hi, I work for a gaming forum hosted by forumotion, we just a couple days ago got hacked, our founder has recovered his account and the hacker has stopped hacking, our founder has the ip address of the hacker in the acp, however this does not tell us who the acutal hacker is, is there anyway we can find this out so we can keep and prevent this hack again. Becuase we now have to restore all our forum and categories and such would dont want this same person to hack us again nor anyone else.
Any help on this topic would be well appreicated. the url is: www.gaminghub.forumotion.com and our founder has a account here on forumotion under cricticsquad.
Thanks again. brandon_g

Hi, we knew about the ip ban thingy, but is there anyway to trace where the ip address came from to get any clue once so ever as to who hacked us?

Re: finding a hacker
If you type the IP address in Google it should come up with a near location of where the person is located. That is if they didn't use proxies or anything.
