Solved Privacy issues

Post by Luke Frost September 4th 2012, 5:43 pm

Hi,

I've recently found a flaw in the forum over 100 users go onto in order to gain an advantage over the competition in a manager game.

Guests can see who are the most active forum users. I recently found that one of our most active forum users were approached by an international team.

I know there is a way but after about an hour trying to find out how to do it, I couldn't figure it out.

Does anyone know how to reject the ability for guests to see profiles, manager activity stats and user summaries of posts they cannot see anyway?

Here is the forum: http://gproaus.forumotion.com/portal
(linked to Portal as it shows the main weakness in this situation)

Any help appreciated.

No, I just noticed something else which I wish to have permitted to members of the forum and not guests.

Is there a way that this part and the profile sections can be private as well?

Yes, I think there is.

Go to Panel>Users & Groups>Scroll down to Special Rights>View the profile > Members.

If you set Member on all of the options. Then, only members will be able to see those things. No one else.
