Smileys and Fonts

Hi !

i have a curious problem, on the forum my smileybox and fonts bar are gone.

Where the smiley box supposted to be there's this :

post title
message body


Where the fontbar used to be is only a font symble visable.
i have No idea what happened, i was on vacation for 10 days.

I think that this is a cache problem.  Try clearing your cache -

No it's not a cache problem, my member complained too.
It must be some kind of script problem. We can't use the smiley or make changes for the font.

please i need some help, i don't know where to look.

Try using a different browser like Firefox?

I tried Firefox = same result
Besides, it was 1 of my members who found out first. So it's not only me.
it's a CSS or script problem, i'm sure of it.
But i don't know where to look to find the problem.

And i just found out my ( quote ) button is gone too !
it's there but you don't see it.


... the quote button re-appeared.
but more members complain about the smilies and the font's can't be changed either.

It's not a browser problem me and all my members have the same problem.
I think it's a script problem, but 
a) i can't find the script aria
b) i don't know where to look for

Is there anybody who can look at the script of my forum pls ?

 few days ago I asked Godfather for help because i have not the knowledge to make the changes mentioned on the forum. i have NO clue what i have to do or change.
so please is there somebody who can make the changes for me ?

Only the founder can see the templates. It is not wise to give out your founder account information.

 i know that, but right now it's impossible to change the Font or use the smileys.
And if i can't trust the "help line members" who wil help me out ?

I wasn't the reason why my forum is messed  up.
And i don't get any alternatives either, except of doing it myself.

The only thing i can do is change my password so "somebody" can make the changes and switch again after it's fixed.

What is the problem you face in making those template changes?

 English is not my native language, so understanding "technical details" isn't simple +  i don't know anything about CSS or HTLM.






Sorry to say this, but at yuku the admins where more helpfull with this kind of problems.

Well, jmho, but I would have to totally disagree with the last comment.

We had similar problem and discovered that when we took out the javascript that I had added - and, did effect the entire board - evidently - everything cleared up. 

We have also had instances where the html I had added also affected the entire board.  I have, in the past, been advised to disable html - admin>general>messages and emails>configuration - unclick 'allow html' - if that works - it is in the html somewhere.  You can go find out where - then, click activate the html again. 

So, it doesn't have to be something directly related to the posting boxes and/or the smileys. 

I have no idea why or what in the javascript that I had added removed our smileys - just know that deleting those javascript fixed the problem. 

anyhow, this is an example of problem solving - and, learning also -

I have not had the experience of anyone here coming and fixing things for me - but, the instructions and advice has always been solid, and I have worked my way through many a problem with the help that I get here.
