Re: Search engine problem
Well Google picks up your site automatically. I find so anyway.
If you have changed your URL it can take longer,as your URL is new, but it still gets picked up by the major search engines.

Re: Search engine problem
Yes but the ranking is falling if a size of my forum is struggling how the heck are new member forums are going become big like my.
before the virus problem i was getting 3500 or over 4000 hits a day, i was getting like 15,000 impression a day, i was getting 40 od new member per day
now I am only struggling to get 1600 hits, i'm struggling to get 4,500 impressions and only getting 5/6 new members a day.
This need fixing it's not how i run things becasue my website is grow by the day my Facebook page is getting over 150 new likes a day, i'm doing everything right this is a forumotion problems if the godfather care about his business he going have to look into this more before it to late.

Re: Search engine problem
If you're willing to put some money into it like you suggested that you might, you could consider going to "Google AdWords" and create an account and pay to have your forum put in search results. You can have your forum ads placed at the top of the pages if you want. Basically the more money you put into it the higher your ranking will be and the frequently in which it shows in results. Just a thought and workaround for you, but quite frankly I don't see a way forumotion can rebuild your search result ranking considering google runs it and not forumotion.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Re: Search engine problem
this wont work becasue forumotion server at the moment are dirty so it doesn't matter how much money you throw at your forum it wont change an thing.runawayhorses wrote:If you're willing to put some money into it like you suggested that you might, you could consider going to "Google AdWords" and create an account and pay to have your forum put in search results. Re: Search engine problem
You could have a custom domain, that is yourforum.com instead on your forum.forumotion.com. search engines tend to index quicker if you have your own domain. Forumotion has this option to either buy your domain though them or host on one you already own. As Runawayhorses said it's up to Google if they want to index a site not FM.

this problem is becasue of the virus problem forumotion had an couple months back.... which forumotion need to sort out... if the godafather doesn't know how to fix this then he will need to pay someone to fix becasue if he doesn't do something every forumotion forum will end up having 2/3 members online and admin will move to rivals or make their own forum which i am planing to do. i could use my own domain and everything will be back to normal in 2/3 weeks.

Re: Search engine problem
Because search engines are the ones you index our forums, Forumotion can only remove the issue that cause the forums to be blocked in the first place. It is up to the search engines then to checkout the former block forums which will add more searches without warnings.

Re: Search engine problem
Steve, if you are not happy with Forumotion you can always find somewhere else to host your forum on. But that doesn't mean you won't have the same problems there. As SL Gray said, It's Google that do the indexing, not Forumotion.S-t-e-v-e- wrote:if forumotion dont move server or chnage then nothing is going change, if forumotion dont think out of the box on this they going have a slow death... i will tell you this now it will happen!!

Just so you know, ALL FM servers are regularly updated, this year alone has seen 5 server changes, and only 1 caused a downtime that was unexpected.S-t-e-v-e- wrote:if forumotion dont move server or chnage then nothing is going change
This is a problem that Buttercup needs to address, and put it to the attention of TGF, aka 'Lead Dev'

Re: Search engine problem
When you signup with Google AdWords you have the option to speak with someone on the phone if you have questions about your rankings or any other questions you might have about your account. So if it "won't work" and your rankings do not improve you can call them and they will tell you why. At least then you can confirm and find out exactly why your rankings has fallen so dramatically. You will have someone from google looking into the situation for you.S-t-e-v-e- wrote:this wont work becasue forumotion server at the moment are dirty so it doesn't matter how much money you throw at your forum it wont change an thing.
I've used Google AdWords for my sites before, and I've spoken with the representatives, they are very helpful and will answer all your questions.
Re: Search engine problem
If i was running the server this would of never happen, if forumotion refund me on the money i have paid to remove links and add i would upgrade my own hosting so it could handle an forum... i'm no newbies on forum and website i know pretty a lot that why my forum has over 15,000 members over 500,000 posts my website is ranked the best for what i promote, i only used forumotion to save me a bit of money BUT if i have to i can move else where without na problemAndrea Borman wrote:Steve, if you are not happy with Forumotion you can always find somewhere else to host your forum on. adword wont fix anything becasue forumotion server has an dirty name becasue of the virus problem that why my forum & everyones traffic is falling that why if anybody who make an forum on forumotion they be lucky to get any where my traffic. this is an fact. forumotion needs to move hosting or get new servers far and far away the ones they using now.runawayhorses wrote:When you signup with Google AdWords you have the option to speak with someone on the phone if you have questions about your rankings or any other questions you might have about your account. Re: Search engine problem
Hello Steve,
Your thinking about search engine is normal. And I do understand you would like to improve the ranking of your forum.
However, neither Forumotion nor The Godfather is responsible for bad rankings. Some of our forums are on the top of Google ranking thanks to a great web marketing strategy (focused keys words, good targeting…).
Concerning the virus problem, we have already communicated about it. You can read the following topic: https://help.forumotion.com/t125416p60-only-topic-subdomain-that-been-black-listed#849881 .
There is no link with our own servers. Of course, I am available to answer your question about this.
If you want our help, please make a list of all questions with your Forum URL.
Best regards
Buttercup

Re: Search engine problem
Hello,
As you can see on pictures, we made all technical analyses to check ranking problems, virus problems and all... Results are very clear. There is no link between the ranking of your forum and any FM technical or virus problems. We also check your forum activity. Your activity is stable these last three months.
Your sending screenshot shows exceptional peaks for two weeks but not a general trend.
We recommend you to read the following topic https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2604824?hl=en.
It explains Google' virus and penalties on your forum. You should be connected on Webmaster tools to have that information.
Otherwise, you should work on your Keywords and make an analysis.
Best regards

Re: Search engine problem
If you're not happy with your rankings you can do something about, pay for "Google AdWords" like I suggested earlier and force your site to the top of search results, they won't refuse you if you pay. There are porn sites at the top of search results for cryin out loud, if they can do it so can you.
Cryin about it isn't what site owners do, they work the problem and get the results they want, and sometimes you gotta pay.
I said all I'm going to say on the matter I've already expressed what I think you should do, so I'm moving on to try and help answer other peoples questions. I do wish you luck with your forum and sites, and I understand your frustrations.
