Solved Today's active topics as widget/list with java?

Hello!
I am trying to show today's active topic search result as list in the footer with java, but it's not working. I've used this tut code as guide, but I don't know java yet, so it's more logic editing than actual knoweledge. I've tried to replace in the java script the search link with /search?search_id=activetopics but it's not working and I'm not sure if it's my syntactic mistake or it's just not possible at all. 

Help, pretty please? ouou

Do you have version 1 installed? The reason why I asked is because there are two different codes.

Are you following the instructions in the second spoiler by replacing the coding in the templates?

Have you tried asking on that forum for help?
