Disable Image Host
Site Name: Taggers Gone Mad
Site URL: http://www.taggersgonemad.com
I would like to know if there is any way possible to disable the image host that is provided at the forums? The reason being is it does not support png and gif format and tag copyrights are being lost when the image host at the site is used.

Hello and thank you for replying.
It is the host that is at our post under "host and image." I'm not sure of the name. I guess it comes with Forumotion??

Re: Disable Image Host
Well every forum does not use the same one. Press the host an image button and the name should be at the top.

Oh, I didn't know. It is www.serving.com
Do we have a choice here? I looked at AP, but couldn't find anything to change or reset.

Re: Disable Image Host
We do not have a choice. Some forums have Servimg, and some I have come across has Imageshack.
So what exactly happens when you try to upload .png and .gif images?

Re: Disable Image Host
Well, the image host does not support png and gif format and will convert them to jpeg. If the png do not have a white background, then the background is made black once it is converted to jpeg and the copyrights on the tags cannot be seen. Of course, gif images do not animate if they are uploaded at the site host.
I was just wondering if I could disable that image host option at the posting area so that members would use other image hosting sites that do support png and gif formats.

Re: Disable Image Host
Thanks SLGray. I've done that and also sent out newsletters. I thought that maybe there was some coding I could use to disable it from the forums, but that's ok.
Thanks again for your help here.
