Solved DNS changes

Post by ITGOAB February 18th 2014, 12:18 am

Is it possible to make changes to DNS records? Or how can I move the domain away from fourmotion? Can i log into GoDaddy control panel and make my own DNS change and how could I do that? - where do I get the credentials from?
Thanks very much.

We got the domain through Forumotion. In fact the person who updates our site for us can't do it any more and we have nobody else who can do it for us. So we want to migrate to another hosting provider with a new site. In order to do this we obviously must change the DNS for the www record. Is this possible? Otherwise we'll have to use a different URL and close the Foumotion site down which would be a real shame.
Thanks very much.

Hello

Actually, we don't transfer domain name as you can read on this topic: https://help.forumotion.com/t128121-domain-name-transfer

You have to wait for the domaine name expiration.

Thanks for your undertanding

Ah. OK. Thanks for your help. Not sure we can wait that long. We may have to go with another domain name. Is it possible to configure a redirect on this url (www.blacklionsc.org) to another url (probably www.blacklionsc.org.uk).
Thanks very much.
