Well I believe it was like that for every forum created within the last two or so years as I've always had it like this for my forum which is two years old. I guess the technicians might have done it for older forums as well.

Is 10 seconds really impacting your forum this drastically?

If you wish to leave FM then that is your choice.

You can suggest an option to disable it completely and the techs might implement it.

I have not encounter this issue on my forums.

1. Does this occur in every browser?
2. Who exactly is this happening to?
3. Are they using a mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer?
4. Are you saying that when you set the option in the administration panel, it changes?

Solved Re: #771 Problem with flood control

Post by Xyer February 24th 2014, 9:56 pm

The flood control has been an issue on our forum for about a week now. It randomly comes and goes and the duration between each control varies. Often it's 5/10 seconds. This morning, I made a post, went to go make/eat breakfast, came back and was flood controlled even though it had been almost 15 minutes between posts.

I thought it didn't affect admins/mods (which everyone on my forum is), so it's very frustrating. This hadn't even been an issue until now. Frankly, I had no idea it even existed; it was that invisible. It's almost as if it's become a forced feature now and it's beyond frustrating, especially when our forum is just a dozen people who don't even need to worry about spammers or social bots.

At least offering the option to turn it off would be an enormous help. It'll still be there if people need it, but also give small forums the chance to ignore it all together.
