Google Search - what am I doing wrong?
Hello all,
I have a forum for supporters of Aston Villa FC - an English Premier League football club.
http://bellsareringing.forumotion.com
I'm having trouble getting a google listing when I simply search for "Aston Villa Forum". It just doesn't appear anywhere no matter how many pages I go back.
If I search for "Aston Villa Forum Bells" (as in the title, "The Bells Are Ringing" it comes up as the 2nd item on the first page.
What do I need to do to get a listing under the more basic search of "Aston Villa Forum"?
My site description is: "Aston Villa forum. The world's fastest growing Aston Villa Supporter's forum. A place for Villa fans to be heard. All things Aston Villa." and all the keywords are set as you'd expect "Aston, Villa, Fans, Forum, Discussion, Premier, League, AVFC", etc and so on.
I've had google fetch most of the relevant pages manually and even if I don't force a fetch, googlebots are there all the time. A site map has also been submitted to google.
I understand that there are other forums that have been around for a lot longer so they'll appear higher on a google search but to not have my forum show at all seems a bit odd, no?
Any help is MOST appreciated.
Troy.

if your forum is new, it would need some time for it to appear, soon it will start appearing, chill
Re: Google Search - what am I doing wrong?
Ok. Will do. Thanks.
I was perplexed as to why it came up as one of the top hits when I searched for "Aston villa forum bells" but absolutely nowhere when I dropped the "bells". I figured it might come up way down on something stupid like page 17 or something. Was concerned I'd done something wrong.

Hello ^^
This link will show you what Google knows about your board.
Maybe i did not see it, but i can't see football or soccer in your keywords. Maybe it would help a bit ?

Re: Google Search - what am I doing wrong?
Out of interest, how did you get to view the keywords? Are they viewable from somewhere other than the ACP?

Re: Google Search - what am I doing wrong?
There are some online tools like aboutus.org. But i did not use them.
For a premier league forum i would expect to find football or sport keywords in the really first ones.
