In progress google analytic wrong code

Post by mclechelle May 11th 2020, 1:40 am

Hi, I've updated my google analytic code via admin panel several times, but each time I view my page source I'll see a different ID on the code. Any solution?

Hello @mclechelle

I think you see the Forumotion's ID which is often present on many forums. If you add your own ID, you will see two IDs: our ID + your ID.

Are you sure there is only one ID after saving your change? Do you add your ID the the menu "Google Analytics" or directly via a template?

Yes,I added it through the menu (google analytic) and saved it. What i'm seeing here is just one ID. check www.naijatc.com to verify. my ID is UA-165948811-1 but what i'm seeing there is 144337024-1.

I think my script needs to be refresh or cache cleared by whatever method forumotion use. I've discovered that anything I add to the script doesn't change at all. Still displaying old entries.

No, SEO meta tags shouldn't have anything to do with google analytic code. Google analytic code can't even enter the meta tag fields.

I have added the google analytic code manually to my overall header file but it doesn't reflect on my website source code. I tried adding a simple HTML code to both header and footer but it still doesn't reflect on my forum. I've tried adding google analytic ID through admin - general- statistics- google analytics, still no way.

Kindly assist on how to clear my forum cache. I think it is totally stuck cuz nothing seems to change.

Are you sure that you licked the save button after adding it and then clicking the publish button?

I've been using forumotion since 2011. I know my way through the admin panel very well. If I didn't clicked on the save button it won't be showing my ID whenever I'm revisit it. My ID is save in the settings but it doesn't reflect on my forum. My ads are not even displaying anymore. I'm using a premium plan.

The coding you posted does not even contain the ID information.  You have not add it correctly.  I still say that to add it you need to use the meta tags option.

Hello,

I'm sorry, I didn't follow all the actions you applied. But now I see two times on the same page your Google Analytics ID on every pages:

google analytic wrong code Analyt10

google analytic wrong code 210

If you inserted manually your Google Analytics tag, I think you can remove your ID in the menu: General > Statistics > Google Analytics

And because I see your ID on each page of your forum, I think there is no issue anymore, right?
