Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Posting because i'm also experiencing this problem. Very slow loading time, when trying to open the forum I get a white screen, if i stop loading the page (using chrome) it will appear, but if i try to click on a different board or thread, it goes into constantly loading again. I've closed and re-opened the browse, tested other sites (which all worked fine showing it's not a connection issue) scanned my computer, used ccleaner, restarted my pc. All of these gave the same results for me, but I had others test it and they were able to get in fine.

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
All i get is a forum that won't load, waiting for Illiweb (again) and takes about 5 minutes to load, my forum is a Australian rules football forum, it's the weekend with football on and not good timing for the forum to be down for my members.
It seems to be a common issue with Illiweb..

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Same here, forum is intermittently not loading and running slow. I cleared the cache in the browser and it was still doing the same. Like I said it is intermittently.

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Actually, clearing the cache would cause it to load slower the first time it loads. A cached page loads fast. If the site is loading slow from a server error clearing the cache theoretically should not help the situation, only open the door for new problems. A cached page is preloaded and would not show the updated server errors. Having said that, my forum has not been experiencing the slow loading you speak of.
Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
When I try to open my forum today, the problem is done. Even it loads faster than Google, 5 seconds maybe. But when I close it and leave it for 1 hour, the problem is happening again. :|
And I saw something strange when my forum is loading normally, the chatbox doesn't display "You are disconnected" and when I clicked log in, it doesn't show anything but a blank page with my forum background and it's doesn't show my username.
Any ideas why?

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Me too, http://t-a-c.actionboard.net is very slow and visible at the bottom of the page:
"waiting for illiweb.com"
I think we've had this issue (or very similar) before.
Last time I worked around this until forumotion fixed it properly, by blocking it locally with an fake DNS entry for illiweb.com in my hosts file.

Runaway, you are correct, however an expired cookie that hasn't been replaced by an updated cookie can cause some slowdown.
Ive done some further investigations will all listed forums, the issue is an age old problem with Illiweb, and therefor cannot be fixed until someone in the DataCentre does a minor maintenance.
Just give it another 24-48hrs for a Tech to come online and send the corrections online..

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Yes we have had this problem before,
This is down to one of lots of servers we have to keep our forums running.
Right now there is No one in the office until Monday morning as the pro admin's do not work at weekends unless there told of a big problem.
This problem has been reported on the French forum as well as here.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.

I've never had an expired cookie cause problems like what is being reported here. At most with an expired cookie you'd need to login again.RadioHead wrote:Runaway, you are correct, however an expired cookie that hasn't been replaced by an updated cookie can cause some slowdown.

I was worried that maybe the no work after 6pm rule was true, but fortunately not.APE wrote:Right now there is No one in the office until Monday morning as the pro admin's do not work at weekends unless there told of a big problem.

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Co-admin at my website cannot load the site at all at the moment for whatever reasons. He hasn't changed anything, the website just won't load for him. Not sure if it's the same problems everyone else is having, but he hasn't been able to connect since Friday.

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
My forum is ok for me but I have had several complaints from members in the last 24 hours.
One has said clearing his cache and flushing DNS fixed it, for the others, it made no difference.

My forum is loading far too slowly. I am experiencing a white blank screen for a few minutes then it eventually loads. It has been like this for a few days now :-(

runawayhorses, these comments are not necessary. APE was just trying to be helpful and you have clearly mocked and shown him disrespect. Not only this, but we have noticed that on several occasions that your attitude on this forum is unacceptable. Therefore, we are asking that you show respect to fellow members and staff on this forum and to watch how you speak. Consider this your final reminder. If we see any more comments like this, we will not hesitate to issue you a warning. This message does not require a reply.

Hi.
My Forum Vauxhall Central Owners Club website link www.vcoc.forumotion.co.uk and access via its external link www.vcoc-forum.co.uk is very very slow. As previous posts in this thread it seems to 'hang' on the illiweb.com.
Also when it does finally connect my Forum runs very slow and sporadic.
Help !

The reply box for private messages got smaller and the smilie box and the editor panel has disappeared and it is taking very long time to load
I tried Firefox, chrome as well as explorer and all have the same problem. Clearing browser has no effect.

I can access my forum again now without any difficulty, although this is exactly what happened yesterday.

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Problems reported from some of my members too. They say they cannot get into the forum at all, they try and try and when they finally do, a post submitted takes ages to actually submit and then at least a minute to return to the homepage. One member could not get in for 2 days, trying with different browsers too.

Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
Well Ape, regardless of how well you can "take it", base somehow felt a need to "remind" me that expressions of that nature are not allowed. I for one don't think it was outta place, but whatever, what I think is irrelevant here.APE wrote:Thank you Base, I did not take it to hart, It's not the first time runaway has mocked what i have said but hey I'm a big boy i can take it on the chin like a man
Yes I have questioned (mocked??) Ape on occasion when I felt it warranted it. He seems to feel when something goes wrong with the forums he needs to take responsibility for it, I have reminded him in the past its in no way his fault because he doesn't work for forumotion. No one seeks his apologies when things go wrong on the forums.
I'm done in this topic, I hope for the sake of those affected by the problem it gets resolved soon.
Re: [Only topic] Forum is very slow to load
I have been having issues for the last three days with illweb.com. It is taking at least five minutes to load a page in all my forumotion forums
http://bagasnag.forumotion.com/forum
http://creativemisfits.aforumfree.com/forum
to name a few, i have no emoticons, or the bar at the top ie B I U S etc and i can not post tags from photobucket.
I have tried cleaning my cache on numerous occasions, changed my browser at present i am using firefox i have even tried a system restore going back to before this problem started. It constantly says waiting for illweb.com at the left hand bottom.
I could understand if it was a server issue but its affecting people from all over the globe
Any help would be appreciated
