New owner - Does new owner inherit all old owners posts?

Thanks for helping us change ownership on our site.

One slight problem is that that the previous owner made '000's of posts which now appear under the new owners name - which is a little confusing.

Is there any way that we could transfer these old posts to a different (new?) name?

Posts can not be transferred between members.  You and the former founder will have to manually re-post the messages and then delete the old posts.

For future reference, to avoid this problem, should we ask the new owner to mainly post under a different username? (Presumably they would have to post as the owner at least every 6 months to avoid the Forum changing ownership.)

That rule applies to the founder logging in.  If the founder does not visit the forum in 6 months and 1 day, someone could try to have the founder account transferred.
