Quote Trim not working between 2 Admins Posts Causes Crashing

Hello I have a quote trim set on my forum  Now that I have made another Admin, the posts between them and I no longer trim.  If there are too many quotes we get a script error that tends to crash the browser. Not to mention it takes up a lot of room on the topic page.   I had the other Admin on the phone and I walked through the training and settings that they saw. Sure enough they are the exact same as I see them.  Is there a problem/ solution in coding? I would like to fix this. For now we manually trim quotes, but not always possible on devices.

Are you talking about the quote limit not stopping you from posting more than 'X' amount of quotes? And when you go over the quote limit it causes issues?

Yes.  If I go over an x amount or anyone on my forum does it gives them a script error, Often locking up their browser.  I fixed the issue by limiting the quotes to 5 quotes. However. I made another member admin to assist me. Now my quotes between the other admin are no longer limited. Despite the fact that the settings are still set to limit it to 5 quote boxes per post.

We need to quote due to the fact that my Forum is  Roleplay site.

Right so before you set the quote limit, you still had an issue when users used large amounts of quotes?

Yes. Not at first but it started probably a month into the site being up. Its a script error and it had the 'google' sign and I copied and pasted whet the script says. I am not even using Google nor half the others with the problem.

I have other glitches especially with the chat box but I will deal with that after I deal with this one.

Have you been installing Javascripts and other codings?

It could be one of these is causing the script error.

No not before the issue. I avoided the coding for a long while until i could learn more about it. (I am also a tech, just never learned coding as I only worked with Lynxys at the time)

I had no java scripts.  I added one a few weeks ago for the color options as a test but then put Java scrips back to inactive. 

I later tried other codings using your help forum to add them but nothing happened as in they did not work so I removed them. (Only in the CCS style sheet for the color display)

I did have to change the mouse pointer.  It had just disappeared out of nowhere.  I had to change the code for it to 'default'  and it started working again. Its just random glitches. And I do get malware pop ups from some or your adds. Could that possibly be an issue?

Well, I have also be having issue with the new Firefox updates with these types of error messages, not just on Forumotion forums.

Not all the members use firefox.  And EI I find locks people our from logging in frequently.  many of us moved from another site so I have alternate ways to contact them.

Admins can bypass the quote limit. Just so you know.

What do you mean by bypass?

Administrators have all privileges:  they can see hidden users, they are not limited by limits you set, etc.

Oh got it. Which would explain why I have one extra quote than anyone else. So basically I will just have to manually trim quotes between admins.   The only issue is when using devices you cant really trim. Alright thank you.  Now to address my other problem. The Chatbox errors. Should I open that ticket in Coding help?

So this issue only happens to the administrator group?

Yes the quotes not limiting are in the admin group only. 


But the script error is there for everyone if the quotes go past a certain number.
