Is there any way we can not have the "Edited date" show in a message that was edited?

Thank you . All I can find is the following (I am new at this!):

------------------------------------------

                                        {postrow.displayed.switch_attachments.switch_post_attachments.switch_no_dl_att.TEXT_NO_DL}

                                        ({postrow.displayed.switch_attachments.switch_post_attachments.FILE_SIZE}) {postrow.displayed.switch_attachments.switch_post_attachments.NB_DL}

                {postrow.displayed.EDITED_MESSAGE}

{postrow.displayed.SIGNATURE_NEW}

----------------------------------------------

I notice numbers on left side of screen next to each line. Am I looking at the wrong line (or are the the words in RED above the only thing that should be deleted?

Code:
{postrow.displayed.EDITED_MESSAGE}

???

Remove just that line (Words, You can not delete the numbers on the left side.), save your changes, and publish the template after saving the changes.

Thank you. I believe I did it correctly.
Will removing that line take out all previous posts that had the "Edited on...." line at the bottom? Or will it only stop the "Edited on...." from appearing on future posts that might be edited?

Also, if not too much trouble, could you tell me the line number (at the left of the screen) for the
"{postrow.displayed.EDITED_MESSAGE}" that I removed? In case I ever have to put that line back in. I believe it is line #211
(Or could it be put back anywhere in the "viewtopic_body" ?)
As I said, I am new at all of this so please forgive the many questions. I just don't want to do something wrong.

#1- Add-on: I just had two member Edit each of their posts and they say the "Last edited by maryflynn on Sat Sep 06, 2014 6:53 pm;" is still showing. What went wrong?

#2- Is there any way to disable the Edit feature completely so no one could edit a prevous post?

The lines on the left just show the number of rulings.

To prevent members from editing, go to Admin Panel => General => Categories and Forums => Click the modify button => Permissions => Tick "Advanced Permissions" and there you can untick the permission which allows members to edit their post.

If I ever did want to put back that "{postrow.displayed.EDITED_MESSAGE} - could I put it anywhere on that "viewtopic_body" page?

Hello itoh,

Have you published this template ? It should display green if you have, and red if you haven't.

I believe you can place it anywhere in the correct template.

You can simply revert back to default template by clicking the red cross. ( Delete )

No show Edit Screen23

This will change the template back to the way it was before you made modifications.

I hope so, but will have to wait a while to see if everything is as we want it. SFSG.
  If not, I'll make another post.
