Some users get redirected to the apple App Store when they use forums on mobile.

Has anyone heard any more about this? I've been holding a poll on my Forum that's open to the public and people are clicking the link to the poll but are being redirected and saying my link is bogus but its not.

This is a problem for most of members that are using mobile devices to log onto my forum.

You should try to provide all the details asked for Buttercup so that they can look into your report for you. Buttercup will not be back until Monday, she is likely the one with any news or info on this, so you may need to wait until Monday to find out more.

In the meantime try to find out more information from you members (even a screenshot if they can) and provide it here for Buttercup and techs.

Well whatever she uses is fine, the only reason Buttercup asks for the information is so she and the techs can narrow down factors and a pattern for how and why it happens (Does it occur more on the Mobile version, Does it occur more on the classic version, etc). So it either one she uses is fine, we (I mean they) just need to know which she uses.

I see. I wasn't sure if one was more glitchy than the other. My mod is sending me her screencaps this weekend. I'll be coming back here to deliver it. I want this remedied. It's been an issue since I opened my forum last summer and the main reason a lot of my members haven't returned. I've close to 500 members and its hit my forum hard. I thought it was just the ads on the forum but it wasn't until someone said it was redirecting to the app store on apple products that I decided to take a look into this.

Okay it took a few extra days but I was finally able to get the information you asked for. I hope it is everything!

-She and I are both using the "Classic Version" to access the forum

-It seems to re-direct both of us to the app store. BEFORE it takes you to the app store, this link flashes in the browser but its so quick that you can't get a screenshot of it. This is the link that was showing up for us this weekend and now the link is no longer working. When I put the link in my laptop it took me to the app store on the apple website BEFORE it redirected me to the app store app on my phone. which you see here. Anyway, heres the link/screen cap of where it takes me in the app store::

So you can see that it's something IS amiss. For the app to give a quick flash of the link, and directs you immediately to the coinciding game in the app store? I don't understand why but people have accused me of scams and trying to get them to buy something. I'm not! I hope this is helpful. I've tried giving you as much information as I can because I'd really like this redirection fixed. It's costing me members.

Our webmaster just informed me that our ads providers made a modification that should solve the problem. Of course, if you still have the problem thanks for telling me

another of the ad popups was for the LOVOO app, but the user who reported it couldn't retrieve the link

he uses classic version of the site because the mobile version didn't display/respond well on his device

I've had two reports yesterday of a redirect to what I think is the Android marketplace. They were clicking a link from Twitter on mobile to a blog post on our forum.

We use a CSS code to force all users to use classic version, whether on mobile or not.
