It appears that in the misc section of the admin panel, the donate button isn't there.

Is there any way to add it as a footer link?

Have you enabled the contributions (donations), if so it will not appear as 'Donate' but as 'Contribution'.

In the misc section, there is no mention of a donation link, and at the bottom of the page there is neither a donate or contribution link.

You can use an alternative. Copy the founder's SMS link from ACP and members can donate through that. However, it always shows that founder sent the SMS.
