Embedding YouTube videos has changed?
It appears that the code to embed YouTube videos has changed on my forum. Previously, it was possible to post the full YouTube link between brackets, now it only works with the video ID. Is there an option or code that makes both methods possible, or at least the old method again?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Embedding YouTube videos has changed?
Unfortunately we cannot change the way videos are parsed ( server-side ). We can do it with JavaScript, but there can be some side-effects. Namely, the image resizer wont work, because we're replacing the post HTML content.

Alright, I see. This was changed recently then? It's not really a big deal but I don't see why it had to be changed, as members are used to the former method and may not understand why their videos don't appear in posts.

I'm not sure on the exact date, but I believe it has been like that for a few months now. As long as they run their video URL through the editor drop down, it'll correctly insert the video..
Re: Embedding YouTube videos has changed?
Well you could tell your members to simply use the youtube icon in the editor. This will automatically put it in the correct format.
