Help changing colors on tables etc.
http://rimrenew.4umotion.com/
I just signed up for Forumotion and I'm pleased so far. I was able to create most of what I need in terms of a forum but frankly, I don't have a lot of time to learn new programs and I'd like to pay for somebody's help.
I want to have my forum all set up with colors, permissions etc. I'm in British Columbia (west coast of Canada). Payment would be by PayPal unless you are in Canada, in which case we can use Interac.

Forumotion is a free support forum. What exactly did you want, we are here to help you design your forum for free. Just say what you want and we can help you. To the best of are ability.
Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
I guess what I'll do is make a list of changes I want. I don't want to be taught--I just want it done. I wish I had time to learn all this, but I have a large workload and can't spend too much time.
I'll probably remember a bunch more changes after I leave the forum lol.

- I want our logo displayed on an all-brown background;Right now only half of it shows brown.
- All tables and such should use the brown for headers etc.
- If possible, the area where people type their comments and questions should be white, but with brown links.
- I like links and such to be yellow on brown wherever possible;
- For permissions and such, whatever is default is fine.
- The only people that can see the forum and post stuff should be our members, and they should need to log in to use the forum.

I am going to message you the password. I'm not sure how to do a test account but nobody is seeing this yet. I haven't introduced the forum yet.

You would just register a new account on the forum and then give it acp permissions and then just pm him the username and password .
Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.

Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
It is usually not a good idea to give out your creation account information. So i went ahead and created a test account for every one here to use.
- Account:
Username: FMTEST
Password: FMtest.

To get the links yellow try adding this in your css:
- Code:
a:link
{
color:yellow;
}
for your table headers im a little confused but add this in there as well and see if this does what you want
- Code:
.forabg {
background-color: #754C29;
background-position: 0px 0px;
background-repeat: repeat-x;
border: 2px solid #FFF;
clear: both;
margin-bottom: 4px;
padding: 0px 5px;
}
Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
Here is where I fall down. I have no idea what a CSS is, where it is or how to modify it.
I was hoping to pay somebody to look at my site (www.rimrenew.ca) and logo and make my forums sort of fit. I like the brown and would like to replace all the blue with brown, and make the links and copy and such look nice against the brown.
This is what was once given to me:
Brown
R: 117
G: 76
B: 41
#754c29
Yellow
R: 255
G: 212
B: 0
#ffd400

Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
CSS stands for cascading stylesheets, this can be found/modified in acp-->Display-->Colors-->CSS Stylesheet
Copy and paste the codes sir mayo gave into there.
Also again as mentioned before, this is a free support forum, all help given here is done and provided voluntarily for free.

Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
I appreciate all the help given but I have limited skills and a workload that you wouldn't believe. I don't mond paying if that's what it takes to get the work done for me.
The Rim Renew dealer network better appreciate all I'm doing for them lol. I just finished an eye-crossing set of owner manuals written for them.

Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
Its simple... Copy and paste, no skills needed, we all started out with limited skills... It wont happen overnight, but you will get better.
Again, people will help you with your for FREE with no payment or not at all... Acutally money stuff (cash, etc) is against this support forum's rules and is a ban on the spot... So yeah, we will help you for free, no payment.

Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
Alright. I'll take a swing at it tomorrow. I saw that CSS tab so I'll wade in. This is a great program and perfect for us. Worst comes to worst I'll use stock colors.

Re: Help changing colors on tables etc.
I've got a staff artist and have saddled her with this for now. She's been in there but I don't know if she needs help. I marked this solved earlier.
What would be handy is a picture of the forum with descriptors to show which element is which so we know exactly what we are changing. We'll get it right.

Most browsers have developer tools. On Firefox, you can right click an element and press inspect element.
